Finally went there after hearing it was the best place in La Grande Motte for mussels. Really good, friendly service and they even made Gluten-free mussels just for me as their 'special recipe' has Gluten! Fine if you want a cheap and cheerful Moules/Frites meal but it wasn't extraordinary either.

By the harbor, the view and tranquillity were really appreciated. The special house cocktail was quite small and not very stron. But the food was excellent. We had the langouste sea platter served in a "boat". It was amazing. Had every interested no sea food you could imagine. Very fresh, of course and plentiful. Even the waitress helped us find more buried under the natural decor.

L'Ombrine, restaurant de poissons et coquillages idéalement situé au bord du port de la Grande Motte.
Because of carnival, bands were passing by at regular intervals and preventing ongoing conversation. The service was lackadaisical and the kitchen took forever to get the dishes ready for all the diners. Our appetizer took 45 minutes to reach us, so we asked for our main dishes to get cooked right away...they arrived 30 minutes later. The food was OK, good baked garlic mussels and seared tuna well cooked, the mixture of vegetables was the same on every dish...

We were captured by the gentleman outside to eat at his restaurant, he was pleasant so we decided to give it a try. Set menu was reasonable with a few choices which we enjoyed, while there a couple near us were eating scallops which looked nice so we decided to return the following day as I wanted to try before going back to England. On our return visit it was a very different greeting, my partner had the set menu again with same main meal as he liked it but when arrived the sides were very different, basically not as nice. The main man walked past and collected our plates, we expressed how we enjoyed the meal the day before as yesterday was nicer, he dismissed my partner with a very blasé comment saying yesterday was yesterday and walked away. We felt this was an extremely rude response. My scallops were not that enjoyable so I will be looking for another place to provide me with this experience. I would not return

This restaurant has a stunning location on the beach and it was very pleasant to sit there and soak up the wonderful sea views. However the food was just acceptable, and the service was very slow. I ordered a dish with king prawns which were tasteless. When the manageress/ owner asked me why I had left them and I gave her my answer she scolded me for not appreciating the fact they were wild prawns. Very strange customer service, but whatever.

the new season of our restaurant will start at the end of March 2019. We will be happy to welcome you from this date
A nicely placed restaurant with a good view, which of course is not unusual in La Grande-Motte which was built with views in mind. Pleasant service accompanied a very good meal which we could not fault in any way. Every part of the mini parillada was perfect when frequently one fish or the gambas is sadly not up to standard. The Viognier white wine from lâAude was just right and the cafe gourmand to die for. We look forward to comming back when the weather is more clement!Thankyou very much for your comment. We will see you again with a lot of fun. Our products are always great qualities and we are happy that you enjoyed the meal. See you soon

This is one of those areas that tripadvisor suckers you in because this is not really a restaurant. The sell seafood. A lot of seafood. And you can sit down and eat it. And get a glass or two of wine. But if you don't want seafood, then you have come to the wrong place. The basic dish is a seafood platter for two to share: 12 oysters, six langoustine; 6 whelks; a couple of tiny (inedible) crabs; 6 (very poor) mussels; a few cockles; some lemon and aioli sauce. But thats it. You can have other dishes, but they will be just some of the above. And it is all cold.It is a reasonable place for lunch but this is NOT A RESTAURANT.
