Like in many important big cities that are not seafront - Madrid, Paris, Bogota, New York, etc- you get extraordinary seafood brought in from their coastal areas. It seems LâAquila ( the capital of the Italian province of Abruzzo) is not exception. The place seem to be in a residential area in the hills, but once you get to it, it has a nice ambiance outdoors and indoors. It is a good size restaurant with white table clothes & good wine selection. You do not select from menus: your waiter, perfectly dressed in a black suit, will bring you about 12 fish abundant appetizers to share. Then they suggest a couple âprimiâ: homemade pastas or risotto with a variety of options ranging from lobster, to local specialities. Then they offer you âSecondoâ which could be grilled fish/ seafood, or any combination: grilled, roasted, baked, etc. The bottle of wines have been âflowingâ: they have great selections of Pecorinos from the areas of Ofena, Chiete & Pescara, etc.Perhaps you should save space for dessert & after dinner drinks! The cost is very reasonable (about 70 euros a couple) & service is good.

this is a special, authentic place usually crowded with locals. other guests made accurate descriptions about the amazing surroundings and the excellent food. I can only add something about its 'italianness' ! My experience with assunta, the owner, was hilarious and so it was for the many customers enjoying her cuisine. Maybe for a foreigner could be a challenging expericence (the restaurant is not easily reachable and i'm not sure somebody there speaks any language except italian, and the atmosphere is soaked with the local gruff sense of humour: i love it), but really: if you like comfort, 25-paged menus, patrons who humor you to have an extra tip, well there's plenty of these places in the tourist-shaped districts in all the major cities. a pity you'll miss 90% of Italy! Assunta involuntarily makes a stand againts conformist tourism! go on assunta!ps: they serve a special river shrimp ("gambero di fiume") a must-try!pps: if you speak a little italian bother to ask the people there about the strange rules of the restaurant
The historic Restaurant in Preturo (Aq) which has seen entire generations animating its halls, is now back. We give the right welcome to those who want to feel at home, enjoy perfect family dinners (we have a green corner for children), adult only dinners
Bel ristorante, brillantemente gestito e con prodotti di altissima qualità . Si percepisce passione e professionalità e ci si sente a casa. Bel menu con primi piatti ottimi e carne top! Da ritornarci!

The restaurant Baco da Seta is a sort of "happy island" for your diner and lunch. During summer you can experience the joy to seat outside, under the natural umbrella of trees older than 500 years. In winter the snow all around creates the right atmosphere to relax for diner, with your loved one. The surprise is not finished thinking of the food you may have: fresh sea food, perfectly prepared, in a city sorrounded by mountains.

A surprizing experience walking among yet to be finished renovatins in the town of L'Aquila. If thequality of food served is somthing to go by, this town will become on of the best places to visit in the future. Restaurant Yoichi was a true surprize. We had the house menue and some drinks. The drinks are unique and fresh and the food is taks inspiration from the italian and japanese kitchens. With stuff like miso soup with pesto. The quality of food and servise is grate and this restaurant is well worth a visit.

What a perfect seafood & fish dinner! The villa welcomes you with beautiful & manicured 'giardini', & a spectacular view of L'Aquila & the mountains of the Gran Sasso in the background. This is a great place to host events (birthday, weddings, etc) as it can fit 180 people.Inside you are welcome by Domenico, an owner in this family-owned business. The setting is elegant & inviting, with the main focal point a gorgeous stone and wrought iron staircase. The table setting (we were 14) was simple, beautiful & elegant. As it is typical in some great restaurants in Italy, there are no menus and its is customary in a 'cena al pesce' there will be several 'antipasti di pesce' & then 'arrosti di pesce' (grilled seafood & fish dishes). Domenico started by offering a selection of wines. Then the series of magnificent appetizers arrived, one at a time, to perfectly enjoy each of them. We were so impressed with the display, the favors, the imagination & fantasy of each dish! The chef Fabrizio is definitely a star! The baccalà mousse, the gamberi, The salmon, the various seafood arrangements (of names I can't pronounce) combined with flavors such as passion fruit, saffron, mango, coconut etc: marvelous & light. After several of those wonderful creations, they presented platters with a great assortment of grilled to perfection fish & seafood! The desserts are elegant, light & flavorful. In general, a fantastic experience. Quality, service & price relationship provide great value. I highly recommend it and will be back with friends.

Excellent wedding reception: the manicured grounds, the 'casale' (gorgeous historic house in Abruzzo), the views, the decor, the harmony with the new glass construction and of course the amazing quality and quantity of the food. The "pre-apperitivi" (cocktails) by the poolside; then the "antipasti" at the terrace with endless dishes ranging seafood, gourmet appetizers, cheeses, salumi, caviar, etc. Then the dinner at the beautiful ballroom with several tasty dishes from scampi, various pastas, various fish & meats. Then the superb feast of fruit and 'dolci' at the terrace, just before you dance the night out until 3am! Of course you have been drinking great wines and proseccos that will definitely help you dance even more!

An ideal venue for the social dinner of a conference. Spacious, set in a beautiful valley with social-friendly architecture. The meal was superb, but rather forgettable and the service a tad slow.
