Kythnos (Greek: Κύθνος) is a Greek island and municipality in the Western Cyclades between Kea and Serifos. It is 56 nautical miles (104 km) from the harbor of Piraeus. The municipality Kythnos is 100.187 km (38.68 sq mi) in area and has a coastline of about 100 km (62 mi). It has more than 70 beaches, many of which are still inaccessible by road. Of particular note is the crescent-shaped isthmus of fine sand at Kolona.

Classic greek taverna fare served up by friendly family staff who also understand what makes good service Like most tavernas the menu was similar to elsewhere although we saw an oven baked chick pea dish for the first time an we enjoyed it so much we had it again a few nights later.

We ate twice as this family run restaurant serves fresh fish at normal prices. The service is efficient and polite. Beautiful scenery at a quiet place of Kithnos Port. Good portions. They also serve traditional Greek dishes. The owners are willing to help with advice about the island.

A fantastic meal at a great restaurant. We were mine people and everybody felt that the wonderful people in the restaurant took special Care of them. The food was traditionel greek with a lokal twist and tasted very Well. And the location in the habour is excellent.

The calamaris was chewy and not fried long enough, the goat was more bone then meat, the starters came together with the main course and one waiter can clearly not do a full restaurant by himself (he was friendly enough though)

Weâve got possibility to enjoy two dinners in this friendly location. Every single meal was appreciated.Very good quality of local food, with very impressive fresh fish. Price/value is very positive. Our friends had visited the restaurant a few weeks ago and were thrilled. We reserved a table by the water for early dinner (19:30) for 5 adults and 4 kids, at the age of 7, and a one 3 year old. I have to admit that it has an idyllic location!!!We ordered plenty of appetizers: grilled octopus, taramosalata, a few salads; and dishes such as spaghetti bolognese, fried calamari, mullet, cheviche etc and meat with red sauce and fries for the kids. As a large group, we had a good size of golden grouper and a 2-3 bottles of wine. By 20:30, the kids were done eating and started playing at the near by beach and the alley between the water and the restaurant. The restaurant was getting crowded but not full. The waitress and the manager told them twice that they canât play near the restaurant or the beach. So, we asked the kids to sit next to us. Since theyâre kids, they started playing hand clap games and laughing!! The manager, I believe it was the famous Aria, got annoyed and went to talk to them without even noticing all the adults/parents in front of her. The conclusion after a short âdiscussionâ was that she was the one who was insulted, no one asked us to leave because of the kids, she would never have kids and, if she had, they would behave...!!! I donât think she remembers her childhood. Above all, people no matter of what age need respect!!! Donât even bother to visit the place: expensive for average food and rude.

Visited just for morning coffee and tea. But we took places on upstairs terrace and had great view for the port and Marina.

a perfect place to have breakfast with nice outdoor seating by the sea. we enjoyed the special and the kythnos omelettes. i only have one comment as regards the coffee which was very watery for a freddo espresso and more attention should be allocated to the cleanliness of the washrooms.

We had a lovely meal here last night. Costa looked after us very well and the food was excellent. Merikas is a nice little town and the restaurant is situated right on the beach.

All meals are home made by Mrs Eleny with fresh and high quiality ingredients.Some of the vegetables are actually from the backyard of the restaurant. Therefore fresh and organic. All portions are larger than normal restaurant portions. Most important the service is not only professional but also very friendly only just to comfirm that hospitality is of Greek origin .
