Was my first time there with friends that make it a tradition every year to go. My fried flounder sandwich was good, my friends had the bottom skin on which was not good he was disappointed. My hush puppies were average. The raw oysters my friends had were delicious. The peel and eat shrimp were terrible. The peels stuck to the meat and couldnt peel. The server told us they had been having problems with them and offered to take back. (If they were having problems why werent they testing them?) The replacement of fried Oysters I was told were great. Wanted the crab and corn chowder and was told "oh those arent really the specials on the board we dont have" Yet 2 friends that sat at the bar at the same time got it and said it was delicious. Our server wasnt that great. The decor is fun. Not sure I would go back.

Although we were there for lunch, we decided to share appetizers...we highly recommend the Hippie Dip, Fried Green Tomatoes and Buxton Barrels! We also had delicious craft beer....a taste of lime!

I reviewed this restaurant in 2013, rating it excellent. This time I have to shoot it down a bit. The food is still excellent, and the hush puppies still wonderfull; prices for the portion is still also about what we'd expect. Atmosphere is still fine, still all good things; BUT... the service was really off. Maybe our waitress was having a bad night--though she was friendly and personable--but she made a couple errors: a wrong side, forgot to bring out the dessert tray...and it was s...l...o...w. We were there before any sort of rush hit. Even though quite a few folks came in after us, there seemed to be adequate staff on hand to deal with the numbers; but the time it took between getting our menues to us, to taking our orders, to delivering the orders (though, she kept the hush-puppies coming, which was a good thing) seemed beyond reason. Will this change our minds about the quality? No. Will it keep us away? No. However, with the many options available, it might be lower on our priority list.

We went to Jockeyâs Ridge and stopped here on the way home to our condo. So glad I came! Ordered 2 blackened chicken tacoâs and they were really good. Also got a side of the marinated cucumber salad- very refreshing! Not sure it would be my favorite dinner location on our date but lunch, definitely! The waitress wasnât thrilled to wait on us but not the owners fault. Iâd rate this 4.5 out of 5 because Iâm a tough critic but they donât let you do half stars so I rounded up bc Iâm leaving content and full. We would come back.

My daughter and I really enjoyed an early dinner @ Beachside Bistro. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the crab dip with fried pitas as an appetizer and it was delicious. Our sandwiches and fries were so plentiful we took 1/2 with us for lunch the next day. We will be back!

I went there with a friend and got the last empty table so there was zero wait. The waitress was prompt bringing us menus and taking a drink order. We quickly decided on our dinner selection and when the waitress delivered our drinks she was able to tzar our sportiest and dinner order (jerk chicken wrap, mahi mahi tacos and chips & salsa. The appetizer arrived quickly and just as were were about to finish our last chip our dinner arrived. Zero complaints with dinner. It was hot and fresh AND DELICIOUS. So good that I took a picture.

We were tired of seafood and wanted something else. We had the grilled chicken salad and steak that melted in your mouth. They do take reservations. Atmosphere and staff were awesome; the food was great. Handles large parties well.

Spending the week in Nags Head and heard about the Salt Box Cafe in Collington, NC....about 20 minutes away. Wonderful, creative food (grilled tuna, adobe chicken, shrimp and grits, grilled NY strip), great drinks and excellent service. What a way to celebrate a wonderful week in the Outer Banks. Too full to try the desserts but they looked fantastic.
