Reviews on Seafood food in Keauhou, Hawaii, United States. Some of the best snorkeling spots in Hawaii are near Keauhou, a town on the west coast of Hawaii's Big Island. The local beaches – which tend to be less busy than those on the Kona coast – also offer swimming, boating, fishing and scuba diving. If it's not a beach day, you can head to the Keauhou Garden of the Kamehamas and take a stroll through the native plants or check out the cultural attractions, restaurants and shops of the Kailua-Kona area.

Umekes prides itself in serving dishes using local ingredients that are of the highest quality. We source as many ingredients as possible from local fisherman, farmers, and ranchers. Our poke is always created with only the freshest fish from Hawaiian wat
We stopped here for lunch while visiting the area. Parking can be tricky but itâs worth the effort for good, fresh local food at non-tourist prices. We ate at the benches outdoors. It was a more authentic, and probably tastier, lunch than we would have gotten at a nearby tourist stop. Aloha,Mahalo for your comments. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your meal with us! We hope to have you join us again someday soon to try out more favorites. Have a wonderful day,Umekes Management Team

Fresh from the land and sea around the big of Hawai'i, we offer locally sourced food for your enjoyment.
We come to Kona quite frequently as my husband is with the airlines. We have always loved Fosters, they are sliding downhill. Last night it took 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge us. They were out of two of the four âfall specialsâ. Out of one of the local fish, out of 3 other things we tried to order. Many of the menu items havenât changed in years and they canât plan to have adequate quantities? They seem to be falling on the laurels since they were featured on food network and need to up their game to deliver what they tout.

Magics is dynamic, vibrant, and community oriented. Walking into the restaurant is like being transported into the ocean itself, beautiful and invigorating, with a priceless view. Weâre more than just a restaurant, our passion for our island, fresh flavor
This restaurant is located in the building where we rented a condo, so very convenient, especially after a few cocktails. Sits right on the ocean, with views of beautiful sunsets. Menu is varied with something for everyone. We especially liked the spicy lobster noodle dish and had it twice. Also enjoyed steak frite and bbq ahi tuna. Reasonable prices and good service but the food and location are the stars.

Jackie Rey's Ohana Grill is a casual local's joint featuring fresh seafood, steaks, pasta and a variety of salads at affordable prices. The restaurant (named after our daughter) is the culmination of much hard work and the dedication of ourselves and our
Coming back the long way from Hilo towards dinner we located this ahead of us using TA. With pretty good reviews we decided to stop by. They had a great ambiance and we were pretty casual after our trip, but you could make this a dressy outing too. We had a wonderful table near a door so we got a breeze (& to watch rain). Our server Chris was very attentive. When my grandaughter had drawn photos on all the paper in front of her, he moved her sideways & brought more crayons for her art.The G-kids had Lobser and they loved it. We had among us the BBQ Ribs, Pork Chop & Burger. And of course we had desserts! We left full and satisfied.Great place along the road.Aloha PeeDeeR--- I'm glad you found us on the return leg of your Hilo adventure. Sounds like Christian helped find your grandkids art supplies and that your family had a nice dining experience. Super!!! I appreciate you taking the time to give us some feedback--- good or bad, feedback helps keep us moving forward.Enjoy your vacation--- Paul, the owner

What a cracker of an eatery. Everything we had was delicious, especially the seafood pasta which is easy to mangle in lesser hands,. The owners young children took delight in serving the tables and good on them for learning responsibilities in this regard. This place as far as we can tell is the absolute stand out in the area around Captain Cook. We heartily agree with everyone who has rated this highly. It is wise to book as it is very popular, but we walked up and got an inside table on a week night in summer. Plenty of car parking off street.

We locals love this place, recently renamed Kona Grill. Located in a blue-painted warehouse, with picnic tables outside and inside, the restaurant's seafood is fantastic, the home-made sauces unique, featuring unusual sides like seaweed salad. As if that weren't enough, the friendly staff is full of aloha. Utterly un-touristy!

Our "take-out" style shop specializes in poke bowls and plates, featuring a variety of locally caught ahi tuna. Our poke is always fresh, never frozen...guaranteed! We also serve shrimp, tako and taegu poke. For those in your ohana who do not eat fish we
Ate her in 2013, last time we were on the Big Island. The poke here is fantastic! Added feather in their cap, they are serving in compostable take away containers. Prices have gone up (almost doubled) about 30% in last 6 years...but still competitive with other places and I think BEST poke in the area for sure.

Rays on the Bay Restaurant is known for its fresh seafood, farm-to-table cooking, handmade artisan pizzas, local island favorites and the coldest beer on the Big Island. Guests will enjoy warm and welcoming service, ocean front views, live entertainment 7
The night of our wedding, my new wife and I went for drinks and snacks at Rays. Dan the bartender was extremely hospitable showing his superb customer service skills by remembering all the guests names and making sure everyone at the bar was well attended to. We ordered a few drinks, poke, and chowder which were reasonably priced for a hotel bar. It was a delightful way to end our elopement day! Thanks Dan!

A former Wendy's restaurant completely redone.
Sam Choy is a legend in Hawaii. But he is not in the kitchen of this restaurant. The description of the food was tempting, but it just did not quite deliver. We had the fresh fish, and it was dry.My suggestion. Go for Sunset. The view is the BEST. They do great cocktails. The pupu menu is standard but well done ( calamari was great!)And as other reviews note, the staff is great. Friendly and professional

Happy hour is the time to be there - We had several different rolls, and the quality ranged from middling to fairly good. There was nothing great, and nothing terrible - but the price was low (for the area), and it's popular, so expect a line before happy hour starts. We liked the salon skin roll, the spider toll and the lilikoi martini. We found the salmon avocado roll and the yellowtail roll reasonably good but with a far smaller portion (not as good a value). The eel roll wasn't great ... and the calamari was nothing special, what you might have gotten anywhere. We were super impressed with the bartender - she not only made all the drinks and waited on the bar patrons, she also managed two bar waitresses, and was more on top of their customers needs than they were. She will go far.
