We were a party of 6 - including 2 young kids. The Menu of the day was excellent value for money, with great portion size and lovely seafood. Lovely clean bright presentation and very pleasant service. Thank you, we definitely recommend !

We've been here before and mildly surprised that there have been so few recent reviews. We came back as we enjoyed ourselves so much last time, and we weren't disappointed. The little cove that hosts this wonderful restaurant is itself a gem, making the whole experience one to remember. It also involves some effort just getting to the place (which is worth it) and some planning in the busy season - a prior booking for a lunchtime table is essential.Sur is split on two levels - a cafe/bar experience on the ground floor and a terrace restaurant on the first floor, the latter benefitting from some lovely views of the cove and cliffs. We always head for the restaurant, settling in early for an extended lunch. The restaurant has had a makeover since we were last here and is well laid out with new flooring, bar, decor, furniture etc.The menu is more than sufficient for most tastes, the paella runs out though so it is best to mention it on booking and arrival. The 'Calamet' tapas (baby squid) is better than I have eaten anywhere else and worth going for this alone. The wines are good value and well chosen. Above all, and it is ever thus, the quality of the Service is the differentiator. At 'Sur', it is exemplary - lots of staff, quietly efficient, great timing, and always polite.. As the 'madam' owner took our order, she asked us something that we couldn't understand and we had to resort to 'we're English' and without a moments hesitation she broke out into a beaming smile and responded, in perfect English, 'well, I am Spanish'! We all laughed and she made sure that they looked after us impeccably. We made a point of thanking her on the way out - 3 beautiful meals, drinks, coffees and a bottle of wine, with an amazing view, and a bottle of wine and lots of laughs for â¬80. Worth it.

Tried this restaurant after reading the reviews. Tucked away in a side street by the cinema. What a find. Lovely interior or if you prefer an inner courtyard, which even in October was packed. Lots of Spanish eating there which is always a good sign! â¬15 menu which include , beautiful fresh breads , tomato and aioli,3 tapas, goats cheese croquettes with cranberry jam, spicy chicken kebabs and the most delicious fresh ,grilled sardines Iâve ever tasted. Steak for my husband and salmon for me. Again perfectly cooked. Followed by a choice of dessert. We chose vanilla cream which again was delicious. A drink was included, the whole bill including a good bottle and a glass of wine was â¬44. Absolute bargain. If you want to dine in the port area give this a go.

We have visited this restaurant so many times in our five years in Javea and always loved the personal experience by all the friendly waitresses but our latest visits have been spoiled by the rude and arrogant waiter, he leans across the table to serve, he forgets to bring things you asked for and gets orders wrong! He really is making us not wanting to go as mentioned in a couple of other reviews. Food is always good and setting is perfect so such a shame .Hi Diane, thanks for your review. We apologise on behalf of the waiter. He has been working for us many years now. There have been a couple of misunderstandings, but we normally hear great things about him. We will be dealing with the situation regardless though. Kind regards

The bacalao is one of their specialties: it is truly extraordinary. So is, however also the suckling pig, the gaspacho, the lubina a la sal. Excellent and very friendly staff. Very charming location in cozy part of the beach front walk.

Our experience began in 1963, when we were only at El Arenal beach in Javea. Now, our spacious lounge offers different environments where you can enjoy our dishes at family meals, dinners, business or at celebrations and events. We offers a traditional me
This was not the first time we visited this restaurant on the beach. Usually, we had paella or fideua, but this time decided to try other things. In addition, I assume the guys have changed their approach and concept, at least the menus are newly printed and they seem to be trying hard. Things to note:- seafood is great, especially octopus- salmon (any plate) is very well cooked- rape (monkfish) is better than anywhere else- paella is basic, it may be found better in other places- they serve 2 types of alioli with bread, both fantastic- thinnest pizza crusts - hard to find even in best pizzerias- salads are prepared differently on different visits.¡¡Woooow!! Thank you very much, We are glad you liked it Hope to see you soonHave a nice day

The Basque chef is very talented and knows how to blend regional cuisine with an international touch - an art he shares with the owner Claudio. Visited by locals and foreigners alike (always a good sign) the cuisine has convinced us over the past decade. You feel at home with the service team, dining is a culinary delight, the place is modern and sea-facing only separated by a pedestrian "paseo". The prices are affordable.Muchas gracias por tu comentario Rudi.Un saludo.

We were looking for somewhere to go for a celebration with friends and hadnât heard anything about Los Amigos. We went online to book but the booking widgets all said they were completely full so we popped in and they werenât full at all.We honestly had the best night. Elegant surroundings, lovely service the boss has a huge smile and is a great host. The food was outstanding, the wine equally so and each bottle of red that arrived came in a different and completely over the top carafe - it was theatre! I would live in here if I could ...... highly recommended.
