Very nice location on the patio. Coming from Vancouver Canada, we are probably a little spoiled with the exceptional quality of sushi/sashimi that can be found everywhere in that city. This restaurant did satisfy our sushi craving slightly, but if you are used to eating excellent sushi, you will not be impressed by the expensive, average at best fare that this restaurant serves.

Two brothers taking over the panorama hotel Elisabetta and ristorante Al Braciere as fourth generation. The cuisine it's a French-Italian fusion with spices and parfumes from all over the world. The restaurant has an incredible view on the lake maggiore.

We just visited this restaurant for dinner and I have to mention that we were surprised since we arrived. The terrace has an amazing view of the âlago maggioreâ where you can appreciate the mountains, lake and the island of Brissago. The menu offers a great variety of appetizers, main course and desserts; they also have a special setup menu. We had the beef tartar, cold cucumber soup, the salmon fillet, blackberry risotto and for desserts we asked one of each as we love sweets... every single plate is presented on a very fresh and elegant way and the food is just amazing, you can feel all the flavors of every ingredient creating a great gourmet experience. The wines menu includes great options from Switzerland, Italy, Chile and some more... they also serve cocktails and the best coffee.This is a place that we truly recommend and will come back for sure in our next visit to Switzerland.I may also mention that the service is impeccable, very kind and attentive staff that makes you feel very welcome and gives you very good recommendations before your order and doing their best to enhance your dinning experience. Sunday, a winters day, raining yet Ascona still remains a lovely place to visit and we enjoyed lunch at al Pontile. The restaurant filled up yet it did not feel busy. The service was good, efficient and attentive.I took the lamb which was really good and in a party of four, each took a separate main course so you had plenty to talk about, exchange and sample. It's good when close friends like to share so you can sample each choice and get a clear impression. Certainly, I'd recommend this as a good place to go.

A special dinner on a warm summer's evening watching night fall over the lake. The outside tables have unique location in Ascona in a beautiful garden overlooking Lake Maggiore. Since Marina was one of the top rated Trip Advisor restaurants in Ascona we made reservations. Unfortunately the restaurant didn't live up to our expectations at all. The service was bad. Ignorant servents and mediocre food. We had to send out the carpaccio since it was so tough, and didn't even get an excuse. "It's supposed to taste like this" was the response. Well - no - It's NOT suppused to taste like that ... Beyond that we had to ask for the bread basket, and not until we were about to leave the restaurant they lighted the candles on the table. And do I need to say that my daughter who ordered spaghetti bolognese ended up with carbonara ...? Sorry Marina, we are not coming back, and we are not going to recommend your restaurant. There are so many other more cosy restaurants in Ascona with better service and greater food.Dear MadamThank you for having taken the time to leave a statement concerning our restaurant Marina. Well, we are just the luckiest. Easter Saturday night with no reservation anywhere, and turned away from 4-5 places before finding this gem. Fine food, great wines, excellent service! Every morsel was a delight for the senses, service was exceptional and the wines were delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the visit and would recommend it to anyone. Pricey, but worth every penny compared to the nearest competition.

We live in these parts and have been wanting to try La Chiesa for some time now. This 14-point Gault-Millau restaurant is located in a beautifully restored church perched on the hillside overlooking Locarno. The Christmas menu included 4 courses (with amuse-bouche starter) - moist fish roulade with truffles, homemade al dente ravioli, juicy duck breast with a vegetable purée, and a nut roulade with homemade gelato to finish. Each dish was perfectly prepared, flavorful and pleasing to the eye. The wine list includes some interesting local choices, the service was friendly and attentive, the view spectacular. Worthy of its rating.

The location is beautiful with the lake view and the small park. The restaurant was absolutely full. When we arrived, we were ask to wait a while on a sofa and we were offered an aperitive on the house.It was asparagus season, so tried some asparagus. Addditionally veal and pasta. All food was well made from good ingredients. Some of the asparagus had a hard end that should normally be cut out, but it was still good. Service was friendly and lively.Grazie mille per la vostra visita al Gabietta.Siamo contenti che abbiate potuto apprezzare lâaperitivo, in attesa di un tavolo per poter cenare, ammirando il magnifico panorama che abbiamo la fortuna di avere a Brissago.Un caro saluto Simonne e Massimo
