This restaurant not only serves the most incredible fish, but is also a real experience. There was no menu. The waiter tells you what is on offer for starters. Usually muscles and prawns etc. but it depends on what they have been able to source locally and fresh. Then for main, the only option is to walk over to the stand by the kitchen with the days catch. Here, your waiter will go through the different types of fish with you and you choose what you would like. It is then weighed in front of you (charged at 430kuna, as of August 2019). For reference, our first night, the large sea bass was 1 kilo and the second night we had a smaller bass and a bream and it was 1.3. It comes with delicious fried potato slices and grilled courgette (zucchini). The fish tastes so much better than normal because it is so fresh. It has not been frozen and it has spent almost no time in the fridge. We think that they keep live fish in a net in the bay and only take it up to the restaurant in the evening. It was always cooked to perfection. On our first visit we shared a large sea bass and on the second a smaller bass and a sea bream. One day we watched the owner come back in his boat and throw a massive tuna off the boat (over 6ft), he then hoist it up into the tree outside of this restaurant and later started to carve it up to be taken up to the restaurant for an option at dinner that evening. We watched from the opposite side of the bay in amazement. We had the house wine, but I think they did offer one other type which is bottled and on display. The grappa they serve is potent! Not something I would drink for pleasure, but it does help to take the edge off for sure! Try not to breathe when you take each sip! Some tips, I do not think they would half the fish, so go with someone to share it with or go knowing that you would have to eat it all yourself. They do have some smaller fish so this should not be a problem. Best to book, most of their trade seems to be from boats which moor overnight in the bay (probably coming there because they know of the restaurants and the owners), and some nights they are full and others they are quiet. If possible, ask for a table on the terrace. Both seating areas are fine but the terrace is better. We absolutely loved it there and canât wait to return with family/friends.

The passion for food has two faces. The first face is yours. If you enjoy tastes, you're focused on being happy and very skilled in recognizing the "little things" that are what foods are in your life in life The other face is ours. We enjoy the choice of
The setting is nice- a walled garden area- however the food is not as good as many other places in Hvar. Perhaps you come here for the sea food as the steak was ok but covered in too much sauce and served only with slightly lumpy mash. The texture of the chicken was strange. I am not sure if it had been sous vide then fried but it was tasteless and I could not eat it. The side of chard and potatoes again lacked flavour. Then there was some confusion over the bill, where the waiter thought we had given him c.140kn tip. While I am sure this was a mixup it made us feel a little uncomfortable. Overall a disappointing experience.

Located 10 minutes away from Hvar centre, Lungo Mare is a small but popular family restaurant serving Croatian cuisine, including fish and seafood, meat with garnishes, soups, cold salads, and vegetarian dishes. The dishes are cooked on a large grill on t
Have never felt so welcomed at a restaurant. Staff treated us like family! You can tell the food is good as is full of locals and always busy! We ended up coming back here as Pero and his wife were incredible hosts! The seafood was out of this world and you can even choose your own fish! The chef has won plenty of awards and you can understand why! Freshly prepared and you can even see it being cooked in front of you on the grill! Offer wine by the litre for large tables and would recommend a pear liqueur to finish! Happy faces all around! 10/10! Places like this should be given the recognition! Must visit!!!!

When hungry for more than just food, but a full gastro-experience as well, come to La Bocca, where fork meets desire.
We have had dinner/drinks here on numerous times during our holiday last August. We loved the food, the location, the service, the wonderful staff... Everything! We were afraid that they would get bored of us because we were there almost constantly I would definitely recommend this place to everyone visiting the city.. Even if you have a small child like we do. Our 1 year old son loved the staff and food as well.. Munching the focaccia bread like no tomorrow

The Black Pepper restaurant is a new restaurant opened by two locals basing the food on local ingredients and local dishes with a creative and modern twist to it. Followed with a excellent selection of wines specially from the island Hvar and the best win
We booked a table on the street only to be ushered to the back courtyard area which had zero atmosphere despite being full. After some very hard negotiation we managed to get our rightful spot. Bit odd really given there were free tables throughout our dinner. Not a great start and left a bitter taste in the mouth which was thankfully assuaged by some pretty good uncomplicated fresh food cooked well. Croatian cuisine is on the whole pretty poor but this place offers hope. The service good and ambience on the steps excellent. Worth a visit.

Our family has been in the culinary business for many years. We can proudly state that we were among the first restaurant businesses in Hvar in the 70s and during the last century. A rich palate of Mediterranean specialties and a wine chart will thrill ev

Dear guests, please note that we will be closed from 29 September 2019. We look forward to seeing you again next summer! Thank You!
I visited this restaurant with a friend for dinner and we really enjoyed it!PROS: - very cute location with nice exterior decor- far from everything so not very crowded- brought us a free appetizer- wine choice was good- schnitzel was cooked to perfection and so was the shrimp tagliatelle (though Italians may consider it a little over cooked)CONS: - 20 minute walk from the harbour with a bit of up hill - waiter wasnât professional in terms of judging our meal choice (when i chose the schnitzel he said it was a shame to choose that considering I was in Croatia) - worth noting that this an expensive restaurant I recommend this restaurant if you can afford it, enjoy well cooked food, want somewhere quiet/relaxing or romantic, and if you donât mind a little stroll from the main harbour.

This a small restaurant on small street was one of our favorite dining experiences of our two weeks in Slovenia and Croatia. We had their traditional Croatian fish stew which was very good. Even better was the grilled sea bass, which was filleted and deboned table-side. The herbs and seasoning used made the dish fragrant and fragrant. The servers were both professional and fun. Igor, the owner, was very friendly. Because the restaurant is so small, reservations are recommended.

Nauta Restaurant is open for dinner from 18:00 to 24:00. Official opening - 01.06 For lunch 01.07.to01.09.from 12:00 to 14:30
Went to Nauta last night for dinner, and we loved it! For starters, we had the Nauta plate (excellent pršut), and after that, I ate the meat platter, and my partner grilled sea bass. Both were really good, the portions were big enough (actually so big that I couldn't finish mine - and I can usually eat quite a lot!), and the food arrived quite fast. Also, the young man who was serving us was super nice and polite, kudos for the service. As a cherry on top, we got some travarica on the house in the end. The ambient of the restaurant is also super nice and cozy. We'll definitely come back!
