The Catch Fish and Chips - The Best Fish and Chips in The Bay
I got fish and chips from the catch in Hout Bay when I was on a visit there in December. The chips were the best Iâve ever had! Absolutely delicious.. beats any chip shopIn the UK. I ordered hake, chips, mushy peas and curry and all of it was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended

This was our second visit and we were as impressed as on our first visit. We were given a delicious complimentary bowl of spicy seafood bisque on arrival (very welcome on an icy Cape Town day). We then shared a plate of perfectly cooked prawns, served with the most delicious soya sauce-based sauce and fabulous egg-fried rice. The staff were attentive and efficient (and I loved the teapot they brought my tea in).

If you are in the Hout Bay or False Bay area, the answer to the question: "Where will I find the best fish & chips n town?" will always be Snoekies in Hout Bay. It is well worth the drive from False Bay, especially if you go via Chapman's Peak Drive.Your taste buds will be very happy if you opt to take the trip. The fish is fresh, the service is good, and the employees are friendly and welcoming. You have the choice of sitting down or take away and either way, you will not be disappointed. We weren't - we went there twice!!Take some time, take a drive, and enjoy really good fish & chips.Dear 148marlenem, thank you so much for the support and great review! Visited today with my husband and two children. I have to admit the food was very tasty. However I asked for rare steak and when it came over cooked I mentioned to the waitress. She called the manager who promptly questioned me in such a condescending way he made me cry. He not once apologised for the mistake in cooking it different to I ordered and as he left the table he rolled his eyes at me. I have never felt so guilty for querying my food in my life. When the waitress saw me upset she called the manager who denied rolling his eyes and said he had not done so. His apology was insincere and followed by the bill which offered no gesture of apology. Paid full price despite the upset and having to wait for my steak to be re cooked. Food was great but donât expect any courtesy or respect from the manager. The waitress on the other hand was polite and friendly. Thank you for taking the time to rate our restaurant and feedback regarding your experience at our restaurant. I am very sorry to hear that you were not entirely satisfied during your visit and really do appreciate the feedback on our food and service.Thank you for mentioning our staff, they are what makes our guest's experience so memorable and perfect.

Mariner's Wharf is the first harbourfront emporium in Africa and consists of the upstairs 360 seater Wharfside Grill restaurant, the downstairs fast- food Seafood Bistro, nautical gift shops, Bakery and Fishmarket.
You feel like having some fun and eat the fresh catch of the day? Look no further - situated in Harbour Road, Hout Bay, you will find Mariner's Wharf Harbourfront Emporium where you can either sit and eat while watching the seals playing in the water amongst fishing boats (and definitely check out the guy feeding the seals by putting fish in his mouth, the seal then jumps out the water to fetch the fish from his mouth) or have a take away meal. What fun! What a great meal! Definitely the best fish and calamari ever!! And after you had your meal visit the pearl shop or the shell shop or the antique shop .

Spiro's in Hout Bay is the ideal restaurant if you're looking for traditional, authentic Greek food made with love and care. There are al fresco dining areas on the patio in front of the restaurant and in the paved, enclosed courtyard with bar.
Authentic Greek and Levantine cuisine prepared with love by the owner and his awesome kitchen staff, the front of house staff are equally as great, friendly and attentive. They are currently in the middle of renovating and doing an overall brand makeover which promises to feature a new and undoubtedly delectable array of Greek-inspired street food. I cannot wait to see the finished product.

This upstairs restaurant has an outside decking with a lovely view over the bay. Itâs got a great nautical theme and a lot of photos and memorabilia. The staff have matelot style uniforms and are very friendly and efficient. Itâs mainly a fish place and thatâs what we had, beautifully cooked and a good price. If you are in Hout Bay, this place is a must for lunch or dinner.
