They keep the prices low by requiring everyone to buy a drink. You can buy anything from water to cosmos to wine to beer. The lobster is the big hit here as are the dozen clams that come with it. These clams are the bigger ones - - a little too chewy for my taste but for the price, who could argue! Just bring CASH!!!!!

Came here the other night with long time friends and their recommendation. The place has a nice ambiance, inside a fireplace would fit in just perfectly. Shockingly we received the bill they took of an entree for being not even 5 minutes late. That was a great gesture and needs to be mentioned, a classy move not to be forgotten. Food and service was great would definitely go back. Keep up the good work!
Thought I reviewed this earlier, but...This is a fairly new adddition in an established location. If you want lakeside dining at Lake Hopatcong, but want something a little quieter than the usual spots, take a look at the Lake Tavern. Despite the name, it is primarily a restaurant, with a good menu of well-prepared dishes - and a bar. The upstairs deck is a great place to enjoy an outside meal. On our recent visit, shortly after they opened, the forecast wasn't promising, but we decided to risk it. The friendly and efficient server made note of the threatening skies as she served our dinners. We werne't far into the meal when the rains came. The server rapidly got us to an inside table of our choice, and got all the food and drinks in to us in short order. We then watched as, without a break in her pleasant attitude, the server rushed out in the rain to bus tables. Good food, great service, great view, and a staff that is upbeat and professional - Basically, the only complaint is that Northwood isn't quite as easy to get to as the rest of the lake for dining, though it's worth the extra few minutes to find.
