Award winning cuisine. 11 miles from downtown Hayward ,wi.
Group of 4. Steak was perfect, duck great, Curry duck wings not too spicy and a local favourite. Buckwheat for those with gluten issues. Service was right where it should be.

Read about Charlie's, and being new in Hayward...decided to check it out.Charlie and Julie lived up to their excellent reputation. Good food and service. Very personable couple and staff. Frog Legs on a fish night???? Yes...and they were good too.Our thanks to previous reviewers. They were right.
We had dinner at Big Fish Golf Clubâs Mulliganâs Pub last Saturday night. The name betrays the menu which is overwhelmingly German. Chef Max is a well seasoned German chef who has been cooking for years and has taken on a retirement job cooking on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The restaurant is a two story building about 100 yards down a cart path from the parking lot. It has a great view of the links style nine holes of the Pete Dye designed course. We ate in the Eagleâs Nest which is on the second floor and has five tables all with views as well as outdoor seating. I have long been a fan of German food having traveled in Germany for years. Saturday we started the meal with the house salad which included ground radish, sliced tomato and marinated cucumbers with Chef Maxâs dressing which seems like oil, vinegar and spices. My wife and I had one of my favorites, sauerbraten. The meat was tender, as should be expected, and the sauce was classic in flavor. It was served with spaetzle (egg noodles) and red cabbage which is common in Germany. While not German ,our son had pan seared walleye which he said was excellent. It was a generous portion of walleye and was served with a baked potato, sliced tomato and lettuce. We all tried the Big Fish Ale and found it rich and flavorful. We would highly recommend the restaurant and plan to return ourselves to try the Wiener schnitzel.
