I ate for dinner and they had a very clean a designed restaurant. The buffet was fully loaded with all of the Southern fried foods. Plenty of vegetables too. There was also a salad bar and dessert bar. Price at $26 per person with a drink on a Friday night. Great service!
I work across town and do not always get to go out at lunch so I call Po Boy Express and place an order and it is delivered to me within 30-45 minutes. I love the super supreme hot and the floyds special. I also get the hot wings occasionally. All the things I have tried are very good and the food is always hot. The delivery people are very friendly.
How this place has only 4 reviews so far is a mystery?!?! This is our 2nd time eating here and it is just as great as previous! The shrimp poboy is very overstuffed and one can get full just eating the excess shrimp before even starting on the sandwich part! The roast beef is tender and flavorful! Employees are extremely friendly and tell owner is the one who takes customer orders. Try this place out and you'll be back!!! We certainly will!!

Our menu encompasses a great variety of original seafood and local favorites. Ranging from shrimp, fish, crab claws, and crawfish, we also provide po-boys, chicken, and sandwiches for land lovers. Don't forget about our specialty Roasted Red Pepper Bama S
I got the Shrimp and Oyster basket while she got the Shrimp basket. The Shrimp was good but the oysters were terrible. They were what appeared to be frozen prebreaded and you could barely taste them. The Cole slaw would have been fine without the tiny boiled shrimp. The service was excellent. This would gave been a 4 star review without the oysters. They arent with ordering. We are disappointed to learn that our location did not provide the delicious food expected of our restaurants! Thank you for letting us know of your recent experience with us, so we can work to improve our restaurant. We hope that you will give us a second chance to impress you.

If you live in the south, or are traveling in the south, a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night ritual is a visit to a catfish and seafood restaurant. The best I have found in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is Newt's Catfish located just south of Hattiesburg on Elk's Lake Road.Newt's has all of the traditional offerings of fried catfish, shrimp, and oysters, the best boiled shrimp, spiced perfectly, served hot or cold, plus a great ribeye steak. At Newt's, expect a premium crinkle cut fry or baked potato and Cole slaw that will keep you asking for more.Cindy and the staff treat you well and you will be challenged to finish all of the portions presented on each plate, but you definitely will give it your all!My wife and youngest daughter favor the fried catfish, while my older daughter and I cannot pass on the shrimp, especially boiled shrimp. We always finish the crinkle cut fries...so good!Cindy also serves a sothern home-style buffet on Sunday. So, if you are nearby Hattiesburg during the times mentioned, stop in at Newt's for a southern tradition. You will not be disappointed!

After a 7+ hour drive to town for a funeral, we wanted to try something different. Glad we did. It was cool enough to sit on the patio which appears to be the main dinning area. Well planned and well built patio. Nice New Orleans feel. HugeFans and nice evening lighting. WeHit happy hour. Drinks are doubles. We spilt a dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our transition from the long drive. Great friendly server.

Though a bit out on the edge of town, Half Shell is still very easily located, on one of Hattiesburg's busiest streets. It is an upscale, southern seafood type restaurant and bar, serving oysters and po-boys, along with steaks and cocktails, and wonderful salads. Open until 10 p.m. each night. They have great coffee, deserts, with outside dining, and wheelchair accessible. Great for adults and kids, locals, travelers, or tourist. Great place to dine!

We always stop here when travel this way and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, portions are large, service is great, and prices are not cheap but reasonable for the value received. We started with fried crab claws which were plump and delicious. Todayâs special was grilled mahi mahi for me and a cheeseburger for the wife. I love their salads and the mahi was perfectly cooked. The cheese burger was accompanied by grilled onions and fried onions on a wonderful homemade bun. We barely had room for the white chocolate bread pudding. But we did and it was delicious. Never had a bad meal here!!
