The Konoba Pizzeria Rustica is located in Marija na Krasu (on the main road connecting the Slovenian border with Plovanija and Umag). It is a typical Istrian tavern offering various specialties of the Istrian cuisine with genuine istrian olive oils and fa
Last night I was dining in this restaurant and had such a good time. First of all the personal is very fast and friendly, next the ambient is very homey and make you feel welcome and relax. Food is amazing, all compliment to the chef! Very tasty in a good proportion you definitely will not stay hungry. The prices are low especially for such a high quality restaurant. In the restaurant Stari Kastel the enchanting modern Istria interweaves with its fascinating past. Stari Kastel is a family-owned restaurant with a great selection of food and wines that are true culinary delights. In terms of architectural design the res
Stari Kastel: the enthusiastic reviews you are getting are WELL DESERVED ! Thank you, StariKastel chef and whole team for making this an unforgettable birthday evening. Gourmet food and wine presented and explained professionally by most competent waiter Alex; smooth and never-too-loud jazz vibes in the background, spectactular panorama sunset. You guys are the best. Somewhat pricey, if you choose the ingenious 5- or 7-dish menus with wine accompaignment, but it's well worth it. Most importantly: If you run into a traffic jam at the nearby Slov-Cro border and have to wait an hour: DO NOT TURN BACK ! You don't want to miss the StariKastel experience !!! Leo K.Vienna, Austria

We ve visited the place with my wife one of the hot evening in August. The behaviour of the staff was extremly weird. They were very busy and engaged with some big group of guests from Germany. Apart of us and the group, there were about 5-10 persons in place, not more. It was really not very busy day. We have sat down and waited 5-10 for a Menu (!!!) then decided to take it by ourselfs as noone had came. After that, when we have already chosen the meals & drinks, waitress came to us and took the order only for drinks (!!!), saying that the "order" we should make to her "boss" (we have no idea what exactly she mean). Anyway we were waiting for the drinks & "the boss". it took about another 10 minutes"the boss" (another lady) to come (without drinks) and we ve placed order (but still were waiting for drinks). At that moment we were already about 20 minutes there and have neither received the menu-card (which we took by ourselves) nor drinks. The ladies were very busy with the mentioned group of guests and cleaning / rearranging the place after them (as they have left meanwhile). There were 3 ladies which appeared extremly busy with some sort of unimportant thins (like going around and movin the tables what actually could be done by one of her not by all people in the place. After ca. 30 minutes without drinks we have levft the place asking "the boss" to cancel our order.

We visit this place for late lunch. When we entered the place was full, but they find us a small free table. Staff is very polite and friendly. The food was nice, specially home made pasta and we also like seafood salad and small stuffed chili with anchovy. They definitely can improve open red wine.

Zardin is in the hills above Porec. Lots of local ingredients.....truffles, olive oil, potatoes. Loves patio, excellent food. Lovely house wine from a nearby winery. Best Croatian wine of the trip. Nice views down to the Adriatic. Well worth a detour.

We stayed three nights at Sergio's accommodation on the recommendation of the tourist info in Buje. Restaurant was downstairs. It was very conveniently placed close to the Parenzana railtrail and the old Buje station. We rode our mountain bikes from here every day. The accommodation was bed & breakfast which was pleasant and adequate. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. There is a cooked breakfast if you wished. Lunch is the main meal served with many local workers eating here. Extensive menu although lunch tends to be the meal of the day.Evening meals served although not as popular. Couple of apartment blocks nearby and next to a small supermarket which was useful. Plenty of offstreet parking. Short walk into the old town.Like most of Istria, Italian is the language of choice.

Astarea is family owned restaurant, specialized for fish and meat.Owner is taking the orders and his wife is preparing dish at the grill.Very pleasent restaurant with great atmosphere, it was full (there was several tables with friends and others with couples). We decided to try the fish, so we have taken for a starter, mixed plate with little bit of everything (octopus salat, bakalar pate, anchovies). It was very tasty. After this we has âriba ispod pekeâ and the main dish was really great (little bit of salt was missing, but this is easy to repair). We have taken also salat and we were drinking home wine. All in all, great dinner for 210hrk per person. When you count all things we have eaten, i would say that there was good ratio between price and service.
