We visited Sailors with friends last week. The food was quite nice but unfortunately the atmosphere and service were very poor. The waitresses were very slow to take our order and were generally inattentive. Also, our water glasses were not properly cleaned and the empty dish I was given for my mussels shells was filthy. We were very disappointed with the afternoon and we certainly wonât return.

If you are looking for a relaxed and cozy dinner, this is the place for you. We were there on a Sunday night, so it was very busy. We sat upstairs surrounded by a warm and cozy room. The food was very, very good. I had the tomato soup and pork collar....a cut I was unfamiliar with. The pork collar is slowly braised and served with root vegetables. My husband had the beef cheeks, also slowly braised. Both were very good. No desserts.Service was warm and friendly.Thank you for you kind review ,our pork is from Rare Breed Organic Pigs we breed on our farm 2 km from the restaurant .The Pork collar recently won Gold at the Blas na Heireann Irish Food Awards Best RegardsDermot Brennan

The visit started well, owner was friendly. Young waiter was fine too. Food came in a timely manner and was pleasant, though not outstanding. The bit about the visit that made me uncomfortable was the way we felt watched by the owner and his wife. There were not many people in the restaurant which made it all the more obvious. It felt like they were in a hurry to get our players cleared. And they cleared some players while some of its were still eating. There seemed no need for that given the lack of guests. When it came to playing I wanted to pay by card and he asked if I had any cash because he had to pay the chef tonight. I said I'd prefer to pay by card so he reluctantly let me. It wasn't the worst experience we've had however it's not one we wish to repeat.
