Things to do in Genting Highlands
I was at Genting for meeting and dropped by for lunch. First visit there. We had fish head noodles, it was tasty with reasonable priced. Place is surprisingly clean and spacious given it's tourist spot. Well try more food there soon.
We wanted to have steamboat but the restaurant we intended to eat at was closed. This restaurant was our last resort. We had to wait at least 10 minutes before we were actually given our menu, let alone have our table cleaned. Service was done without a smile. The only reason we stayed on at this point was because we were so hungry and knew no other place for steamboat nearby. When we finally did get the menu we thought the price per head for a steamboat meal was rather steep considering we are unable to choose what we want. It was not a buffet like most steamboat places I've been to, but rather they have a set amount and choice of items. So if you don't like something on the platter, you're most likely stuck with it. Flavour-wise, it was alright, nothing to write home about. We had the tom yum (it's either that or chicken soup), and it was rather salty. It served its purpose to fill our tummies but that was about it. A lot of stuff went to waste as we were not too keen on certain items. I understand that it was a full house when we arrived and there was not enough staff on the floor to clean up/take orders/serve customers. I would have overlooked all that if they could at least fake a smile to make customers feel welcome. Instead we felt like an added burden to them for coming at such a peak hour. Remember, the F&B line requires staff to have people skills; that's what keeps the customers happy (on top of quality food). I'm not sure if I would recommend this place to anyone unless there wasn't any other choice available. However, I am willing to give this place a second chance, maybe I was just there on a really bad day. But first impressions are important, so another person might not be as forgiving.
Located just a stone throw away from the bustling Gohtong eateries, this restaurant is definitely a good alternative if you are looking for a more laid back & casual experience. And parking at the moment, is still easily available too. This corner lot restaurant is located right across Petron & Starbucks so its very visible from the main road. Very clean and brightly lit, presenting a comfortable dining environment. The waiter & lady owner are very friendly eventhough some of the waiters does struggle to communicate in English. There is a wide variety of chinese dishes available at this restaurant however the only live fishes are the Talapia & Patin.Crabs & frog's legs are seasonal and not always available but when they are, it is recommended to give it a try as they are very fresh & delicious.

A very nice place to dine with friends and family. Three of us ordered 1 Haddock Fish regular, 1 Cod fish regular, 1 fish burger,1 prawn cocktail, 2 brownies topped with vanilla ice-cream. A little too much for us, couldn't finish 1 of the brownie so need to pack home. I should say the brownie was very nice, not too sweet and top layer was very crispy, very special. Yes, the prawn cocktail not only looked attractive but taste good too. Prawns very fresh. The cod fish must eat while still hot, when it cooled down, the flavor changed and a little bit flat. The burger bread wasn't satisfactory. Haddock taste a bit flakier if compared with cod. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff who had served us.

We were invited guests here but have to say that everything from the service the venue the ambience the chef and the food was superb. Very exclusive venue and great decor with a pool in the middle. Staff exceptional attentive and couldnât be faulted. Lovely choices of wines. We ended up having at least 7 courses. Each made with such perfection. From the amazing sushi and kinky fish, scallops, wagyu and the homemade chocolates at the end. The textures and flavours so refined really difficult to describe so I will post photos to help show the attention that speciality chef Ikuo prepared for us. This should really be a Michelin star restaurant.

We went there twice for two days trip.First trip we choose ala-carta steamboat. There got few packages. but we choose ala-carta order like how many plates of meat, vegetables. Order 26 items cost about 270Rm. Also include one pot of tea and one coke. For total of 5 adults.Soup we choose tom yam and chicken soup. The steamboat is two soup type. Next day we went we take 2 person steamboat cost about 98RM. Order side dish like steam fish and belacan kang kong. Total 470RM, the fish alone cost about 240RM. However will say their food is pretty fresh, like prawn, meat etc. Thus we feel enjoy and worth it. Recommended. Steamboat think is minimum 2 person. I saw one person eat maybe order side dish only.

This restaurant is located within Gohtong area, nestled among many other eateries. My wife and I decided to give this place a try when we arrived Genting Highlands around lunch time. From the facade, it was nothing out of the ordinary or impressive. The restaurant only had 1 table of patrons seated outside when we arrived which was quite worrying at first. We went ahead to order a deep fried Nam Yu style chicken wings, whole squid steamed with egg, venison slices fried with ginger and onions & toman fish slices fried with giner and onions. The fish slices were fresh and had a nice cruchy texture, the venison was tender but the sauce was a tad too salty, the squid was succulent and had a nice bouncy texture to it while the chicken wings came out as the winner. It was crispy on the outside while juicy and succulent on the inside plus it had a flavourful Nam Yu taste to it.Price was reasonable especially when considering everything in Genting Highlands is either 50% to 100% higher than in KL city centre. Will definitely return again to sample some of the other dishes that they offer.

Ordered Wild boar curry, watercress and stuffed tofu. Excellent in taste. Totally loved the watercress. There is a good sized store beneath the restaurant. There, you may get your coffees and titbits. Opposite the restaurant there are veggie and fruit stalls.
