I had read a lot about Can Rafalet over the internet and some friends had also recommended it, so I had my expectations quite high. But they didn't let me down, quite the opposite :) Most important - do book previously, especially if you want a table outside, to enjoy the great views over the island and Caló de Sant Agustà and Ses Platgetes. I had the perfect table, front row next to the sea. When they bring the menus, they also bring you a small appetizer, bread with a mayonnaise made with allioli, which is simply delicious. Don't relish on it too much, however, because then you will find it difficult to finish your main course, as the portions are quite large!I ordered the fideuà de peix i marisc (fideuà with fish and seafood), very good taste and abundant. For dessert, I ordered the mascarpone with mango sauce - wow, that was orgasmic. The most soft mascarpone texture I ever tasted and the mango sauce was also delicious. The best thing about desserts here is that the cook (and one of the waiters at the same time) loved drawing since he was little and he always improvises a small drawing next to the dessert, on the plate. Mine was so beautiful, but now when I was writing the review I realized that my mobile didn't save the picture, so sad about that. Everyone is nice and ready to help, as I was travelling alone and taking pictures all the time, one of the waiters offered to take a picture! The only small drawback would be that not all waiters speak/understand Catalan and that was quite dissappointing. I mean, speaking is one thing, but one of them told me that he didn't understand me in Catalan, when I was just saying dishes from the menu. All in all, a good experience, would definitely come back and recommend it!

I do admit I'm especially fond of this restaurant as food is great, service is friendly and efficient, views are excellent and it sits in front of my preferred beach in Formentera. Difficult to find a competitor, doesn't it?I would say this season the starters are not that big as they used to be, but still as tasty as usual.Tip 1: I would advice to share some starters first and then go for any of the excellent rices. Tip 2: book well in advance for a table in front of the fence and gorgeous views over the sea. Although I have a personal preference for a similar restaurant nearby I must admit Es Cupinà was great today: great service, great food and the best table in the restaurant (as we booked the day before -tip-).We did not taste neither rice nor fideuas (which are usually very good) and we shared multilple starters and some main courses: salmon tartar, clams, mussels, spanish omelette -a must here-, tuna fish,... excellent each of then.It is true that it is a bit overpriced, but if get one of the front view tables and the same quality as of today I think it is worth it for once -or twice ;-) -.Illustration: salmon tartar for 17â¬Labels: $$$, 2Eat, #Mediterranean, #Terrace, #Views, #children, #mustGo

We have been coming to Es Calo for over 30 years and Cafe Rafalet is like a second home, spectacular views, people watching, great great staff who work tremendously hard but always with a cheery smile and a quick word. We are always welcomed back with a hug and warm words, even if they have seen so many people come and go in the year. It is our best cafe in the world.

We fell in this restaurant in May. The staff was very efficient with our dinner wishes. My wife and I shared an excellent entrecot with pepper and cheese sauce.The sunset is probably the best of the island with extraordinary views.Prices, the usual on the islands.A must !!!

Itâs hard to have a bad meal with this view and this service. We ordered the fried lobster with potatoes, eggs, and truffles, and it was absolutely memorable. Come for lunch to enjoy the view or for sunset. Amazing all around. Thank you for a special meal!

the best one- first of all owners that tell U story of restaurant, reccomend dishes, explain everything.They are center and heart of this place. Second food- new interpretations of well known Italian dishes like gnudi, tiramisu, panzanella. Good house wine and very nice idea of menu -we took vegetarian menu- starter, first and second plus dessert x 35 euros-person. Caterina is place that is worth to see also for place: furniture,design etc.

My husband and I ate here last night and we cannot say enough wonderful things about the place- the ambiance, the food, and of course the service. I have to start by thanking Pili for going out of her way to accommodate us. After visiting the restaurant to find it was fully booked for the next few days, I had explained to Pili that we had tried calling MANY TIMES to make a reservation and could not get through. Pili could see our disappointment and decided to take my phone number and said she would call me the following day in an attempt to accommodate us. That following morning, I received a phone call from her own personal cell phone via Whatâs App, offering us a table for that night. We couldnât be more appreciative. Everything from the fried seafood appetizer, to the lobster paella and finally the famous cheesecake was AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and make sure to dine here during your time in Formentera. You will be so glad you did!
