The Irish name is short for Inis Cluana Rámhfhada ("island of the long rowing meadow"). The town is on the River Fergus, north of where it enters the Shannon Estuary, 19 km (12 mi) from Shannon Airport. In 2016, Ennis had a population of 25,276, making it the largest town in Clare and the 12th largest in Ireland.

Relaxed meal with excellent service. Six of us out for a special evening and very enjoyable. Starters were very decent portions, great variety to choose from and delicious. The entrees were equally impressive, with great flavours all âround. Desserts were mouth-watering and every dish was beautifully presented. We were very well looked after by our server, who was attentive without being intrusive and was great sport in taking photos, which weâll treasure with great memories of a wonderful night out! Would recommend to anyone. Good prices for great food. Will be back!

We stopped here for a quick take away at the end of the night. The fish was fresh and the chips were excellent. It's a very economical and good meal.

Really disappointed overall with this hotel and restaurant. I chose it based on the good reviews and choice of bar food and restaurant food. Spacious venue. Booked a table for dinner but the staff member who 'greeted' us was so rude and unwelcoming, we decided to leave.
