Chef Ted Mahoney has developed an extensive, eclectic menu to suit the tastes of discerning diners, with an emphasis on fresh, local seafood.
September is here and the crowds are off the Cape so it is a great time to eat out. We had a great meal and the service was great. What I also liked was there wasnât a long wait. The prices could be a couple dollars less however it was worth it. I split a good salad and the warm bread was a treat.

After traveling along Maine & eating lobster rolls everywhere, we had high hopes when ordering at the Lobster Shanty. The sign did say, the best lobster rolls... well... not really. I get the feeling that they recently opened when we ate there. The crew was hard at work landscaping. Looks inviting as you pass by, the staff was friendly. The musty smell in back of the restaurant was a bit overwhelming. I wish them well but certainly NOT the best lobster rolls, maybe in the Cape but be careful on how you advertise. The chowder was tasty enough, my daughter thought the crab cake was ok, but for the prices the portions are tiny. We spent a fair amount of money and walked away somewhat disappointed. FYI- if you produce "the best" you can charge more money, but make certain that it truly is the best, then you can skip the silly sides like fries etc.

We finally made it to this popular stop in Orleans and we werenât disappointed. Great menu; many very interesting and different choices, on top of a solid list of standard options and wood fired pizza. We tried a cod dinner over risotto and the special surf and turf option: A delicious cod fish cake and a really special chicken sausage grinder with roasted peppers, caramelized onions, and blue cheese. Really, both were exceptional! We will absolutely return but all the stories were right. VERY crowded. Try to get there early and you will have a very enjoyable mid range experience.
Been there when it was very good, been there when it was not good at all. Seems it depends on which crew of voulenters are working. Besides fish they have hot dogs and hamburgers. Club pricing for the drinks, Food is also very reasonable. Which makes up for a lot. Great atmosphere and very friendly people. Also they do a Wed. night barbecue in season which we like better.
A woman at a nearby restaurant told us about Mac's when we said we were really wanting fish tacos, so we looked Mac's up and went there. It is a market, and you can also eat here. I ordered fish tacos, and my husband had salmon sandwich. We were both very pleased with our lunch, and we hope others will try this fairly new location. It was clean and bright. You can also eat outside if you want and weather is good.

Van Rensselaer's Restaurant & Raw Bar is closed for the season - we thank you for your patronage - and we look forward to seeing you in April 2020 !
Every September, Van Rensselaerâs Restaurant is a spot we return to for a fantastic dinner. We sometimes arrive for the âearly birdâ which includes a salad bar or serving of soup with your meal. I especially love this restaurant because they are very kind to vegetarians. Their salad bar has so much to choose from, including several types of greens, beans, vegetables, cheeses and extras. Tonight I ordered Tofu Provençal which had tofu, tomatoes, basil, feta and olive oil with a side of steamed broccoli. Fabulous! I highly recommend this restaurant.

year round, lunch & dinner, full service retaurant with live entertainment weekly! Patio & indoor seating, dog friendly & family friendly
The food is mediocre. The menu is very strange. Extremely overpriced. The owners are rude & condescending. So called âChefâ Bill Stewart is downright creepy & disturbing. There are many good restaurants nearby- go elsewhere!!Dear whoever you are, what a lousy thing to say, you obviously don't know what you're talking about, first we are not overpriced, but priced in line with our market, their is nothing strange about our menu, don't know where you got that from either. We are never rude to our customers or condescending, or we would not be in business for over 10 years now. Read our reviews and see that the majority of our customers know and love what we do.. you must not know me or are getting me confused with another chef. However we will forgive you for you know not what you do. They say if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all. Your agenda is noted, why you feel this way is your business. We feel badly for you however that you can't find some way to channel this hate. It will not do you any good in the long run. So my suggestion to you seek professional help, maybe you can find something productive to do beside berate people who work so hard to create what you can't. good luck in all your future endeavors and feel free to stop in sometime and educate me on how to run a better restaurant.

Celebrating our 30th anniversary, the historic 1840 Captain Linnell House is home to Cape Cod's most distinguished fine dining restaurant as well as an award winning Cape Cod wedding, rehearsal dinner, and corporate venue site. We are located in Orleans,
The building is a beautiful historic property with very attractive dining areas. It was not our first time here. Our waiter professional with good service. My husband chose the Prix fixe for $40.00âHis first course was the Linnell chowderâquite hearty and tasty with a hint of herbs that really made it special. His prime rib was large, tender with a pepper crust and was flavorful. My âscrodâ in parchment while quite tasty did not seem to have true Maine crabmeat. It tasted more like Langostino and was orange! Maine crabmeat is not orange! It was also a bit on the salty side. I let it go, but was surprised not to taste and see Maine crabmeat as described in the menu. Our drinks were good but definitely on the expensive side at $13 and $15.!! Clementine cake was good. Overall, a good and mostly satisfying meal but not an âAâ.

The Yardarm Restaurant is a small place with a big imprint. In the last decades we've prided ourselves on being the go-to meeting spot for locals in Orleans. On any given day, you'll find townsfolk like fisherman, physicians and plumbers all sharing stori
Love this place for lunch so went for dinner Thursday night Prime Rib. Two couples, our waitress came and seemed angry. I asked about a beer they had on draft and she said, "I have NO idea!, I don't drink beer!!!" OK. My friend asked about getting the prime rib rare, and she said, " We have 3 cooking", and never answered his question. Our dinners a came and the prime rib was so tough I couldn't eat mine, and the taste was terrible. Our waitress had a bad attitude, just mean. Won't ever go back at night for dinner there.Thank you for your review. I am so sorry that your group had this experience. It is not acceptable to us and has and will continue to be addressed with all our staff. Normally, I would suggest that you let your Server know if your meal is not to your liking so that we may correct it; however, it is obvious that this was not possible this particular night. I am sorry that I was not there at the time. Our primary goal is to have happy/satisfied customers so I hope that you will give us another chance by coming back in for either lunch or dinner. I hope to meet you personally.
