This restaurant is conveniently located on-site at the Matilda Motor Inn, near the centre of Dubbo. You probably should book as most nights they seem to be quite full. Mixed food from staples such as calamari and schnitzels, to steak, to fried camembert to salads and specials like soup, roast and more (oh, and yes, even pizza). There is even a kids menu. Full bar as well. Reasonable value. Wait staff was excellent, especially Jaydan and his twin or triplet siblings (see Matilda Motor Inn review) who was serving drinks, taking orders, cleaning up and doing maintenance all at the same time. Lee was also charming.Hello PLCSydney, thanks so much for taking the time out to post your fabulous review, we both appreciate that you did. So pleased you enjoyed your meal and the service form Jayden and Les, I will pass your comments on to them both. We look forward to seeing you again, all the very best, Sharon and Murray.
Where to eat Thai food in Dubbo: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Recently visited to try their fish as I have been looking for quality fish, and experienced with terribly poor customer service! Ordered for beer battered to begin with and grilled after 5 minutes of beer battered! The lady kept my beer battered to put with grilled together in a same box and made the battered cold. And their Greek salad was terribly off in taste! Just the wastage of money!

Friendly service and busy which was a good sign, Freshly cooked fish, grilled, crumbed or battered. Excellent chips, a variety of seafood options Tasmanian scallops, prawn cutlets etc plus the usual cafe fried food. 1st time to the captains catch wont be the last when i need a good dose of fish & chips
When you generally visit buffet, you forget the quality of food and focus primarily on quantity and variety. The Sporties buffet was a welcome change. Practically an ocean of items to chose from. Started with the salad bar (with prawns and oysters), then entrees (a plethora of fried items - crumbed fish fries, crumbed chicken wings, crumbed potato and scallops, french fries, pork crackling, samosa, spring rolls, crab claws - everything was fried, so was difficult to differentiate the taste from one another). The mains had such an elaborate spread that it was difficult to chose from. Honey chicken, seafood curry, prawns thai curry, mixed veggie gravy, meat curry, chicken noodles, veg fried rice, bbq pork, sausage and gravy, mashed potato and pumpkin, chicken soup. The variety of dishes just doesn't finish! The taste of the mains (unlike the fried entrees) were very good and quite distinguishable from one another. The dessert selection was the best. Had 3 choices of ice creams, 3 choices of brownies and cakes, milk sago, apple crumble pie, different colored jello, custard and pavlova. It was just awesome and a sugar overload! We loved the place. The adult pricing and kid pricing was quite reasonable and we kept wondering how they manage this vast spread with the amount they charge from customers. Definitely a must visit restaurant in Dubbo, but make sure you are very very hungry with an empty stomach before you go there.
