We decided to give Shoney's a try since we needed something fast that was close to Montgomery Bell State Park, even though the Shoney's near home aren't very good. We were pleasantly surprised - it was a Saturday evening and they had a seafood buffet and it was better than usual for that type of food when you are not on a coast. The service was good, even though we had a large party (14 people). Food quality was similar to seafood at any casual steakhouse or O'Charley's/Applebee's class restaurant, and the selection was good. We left wishing the Shoney's in our area were this good.

Concept is good- all you can eat shrimp plus add on all you can eat crab legs. Execution is a fail, though. Could have been a charming restaurant, but soggy crab, long wait times, and poor lighting ruined the experience. Shrimp comes in a variety of flavors, but was over cooked and dry. Floors are carpet, so messy crab smells linger. Had to get paper towels from the bathroom since we were given only one napkin each. Donât waste your time or money. Family of 4- bill was over $100 but meal was worth about $40.
