Our philosophy is simple: We believe in providing the best barbeque and seafood in south Louisiana. We specialize in competition style barbeque from the Carolinas, Missouri, Texas and Tennessee regions.
Last night was our first visit. Our server was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We were brought a plate of homemade potato chips and homemade bread & butter pickles as we read the menu. Typical menu - nothing creative. My husband ordered the BBQ Smokehouse platter - brisket & ribs, hand cut french fries, a small container of coleslaw & a bread. I ordered the variety of "sliders", chicken, pulled pork and chopped brisket, hand cut fries included. For my taste the meat had too much of a smoke flavor (just my opinion). My husband's response is "it was OK". I'm not sure what we were expecting, but we doubt we'd return. The restaurant itself was nice and it was clean.

This has got to be the most awful/horrible Restaurant/Buffet I have ever been to. DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE!!!The advertisement online does not come anywhere close to reality.FOOD WAS COLDFOOD HAD BAD TASTEDESSERTS TASTED LIKE MEDICINE I really can not describe the awful experience my family and I had at this place when it comes to there food. We are on a road trip from California to Florida and have been trying all those somewhat famous places to eat that supposedly serve the best of the best. ... but this restaurant fell long... far and away from the tree when ot comes to good tasting food.As my son quoted: We could have had a been and cheese burrito from Del Taco and we could have rated that burrito 5 stars compared to this establishment. Now we are off to search for a good place to eat, if this food does not get us sick before....I will post my next review once we find a better Restaurant. To be continued. ...

One of my favorite things to do, when I'm in Baton Rouge, is to meet my brother at Louisiana Lagniappe for happy hour. He lives nearby and goes pretty frequently, but it's always a treat for me. Nothing quite like it where I live now!

Karla chose the Swamp Box Cafe for lunch knowing that I truly enjoy Cajun food. We chose Jambalaya, red beans, boudin and crawfish pies. I found the jambalaya tasty but very different from what I make. The boudin was some of the best that I have ever eaten. Karla loved the crawfish pies as well. I brought 6 boudin links back home to enjoy at a later date. It was as great place to eat.

I eat here occasionally and have always been satisfied with the food and the service. I usually have the catfish plate and have also had the crawfish etouffee, seafood gumbo, shrimp and always start with the hushpuppies. Also, the only imported seafood that I know of that they serve is tilapia and I have personally asked that they discontinue serving it. I am a big supporter of Louisiana grown seafood.
