Delightful seafood restaurant situated on the beach at Dover. Fantastic sea views and stunning views of the harbour at night.Al fresco dining in good weather. Spacious and modern with excellent service.Local fisherman's catch used where possible and local
The area with tables has a beautiful view of the harbor, but needs a little updating. The food is fantastic after you finish taking all the shells and bones out of the seafood. The breaded fish had bones... the seafood pasta needed 15 minutes to shell all the prawns before eating. Taste was spot on after this... The service as spotty as we needed to ask for the bill 3 times before it was delivered to us.

Visited the Happy fryer on a quiet wet Monday evening and was impressed we were seated quickly and our order taken promptly, the drinks arrived followed soon after by our food the cod was lovely and white and the tasty crispy batter was outstanding, the chicken was very moist and tasty and the kids meals are good value.Would strongly recommend the Happy fryer for good freshly cooked fish and chips.

Restaurant serving Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner, open from 8am daily. Meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan meals available. Now rebranded as The Quarterdeck.
We had a really good meal here last night and with a Rum Punch thrown in free. The Crab Tart was amazing and the Belly Pork was good too. The portions are generous. We had stopped going when this place was called Hythe Bay, it was awful, but the whole experience now is excellent. I just felt so sorry that they didn't have more people in.Thank you. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again soon.

This little fish restaurant might not look much; it's small, a bit dark and dingey, and has the squawk of neighbouring seagulls as a soundtrack, but oh my the cod and chips is the best I've ever tasted...and ever will taste...The fish isn't greasy and yet extremely tasty. The fish just falls satisfyingly apart in chunky flakes. The chips are delicious, and there is ample ketchup and tartar sauce to heap onto your plate. I think this might just be the best fish and chip restaurant in the world if judged by taste. I hope it never changes.

Great Fish n Chips, cooked fresh,Two brothers offer Service with a smile
We visit Deal once a year & were staying a short distance from the Fryer Tuck. Having had Fish & Chips there twice last year (both times excellent), I went there again. When it was cooked (to order), the guy asked me if I wanted salt & vinegar; "No thanks. I don't eat salt & my wife can't stand vinegar". He then asked if I would like a wedge of lemon instead & put a wedge of lemon with each piece of fish. In all my years, I have never been offered lemon with my fish in a fish & chip shop. Really impressed. )& the fish & chips were great too.

Good food. Nice friendly waiting staff. However possibly the slowest ever meal. Starter and main course each took around 50 minutes to arrive. Had to ask three times for mayonnaise for my grandson which only arrived when the meal was finished. However the staff brought him some more fries, apologised later for the slowness and gave us a suitable discount. My attitude is that stuff happens, and if generally cheery people try to make amends, then all is forgiven. I'd certainly be prepared to give the place a second chance

I came here with my partner Saturday 5th October to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant was beautiful, really gorgeous decor with fairy lights and glass roof which really creates a stunning ambience. The food was really delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the smoked haddock and my partner went for the lobster! Itâs definitely worth it, so fresh. The only criticism I have is the service was very slow and scatty. Served by 4 different people! We asked for dessert menus and waited 20 minutes, they still never came so asked for the bill, waited another 10 minutes for that, then still had to ask for it! Service could be improved but the atmosphere and food was superb.

15 minute wait for two bags of open chips, despite chips being ready and available to serve. I suspect combining the take away service with the restaurant orders doesn't quite work for this team. Both need priority and both need serving. Combining both means nobody gets priority. Took just as long to be acknowledged in the queue. Nice and polite staff for sure, but perhaps some old fashioned customer service would be good? Sorry.

Went with some great friends on a continuing food tour of east Kent. Weâve been to many good places. This is the BEST so far (by a country mile). We had the tasting menu with accompanied wine flight. Each course was delicious and innovative. Weâre coming back!
