While working on a project at the Puget Sound Shell refinery I had the opportunity to eat at Orlando's. Their food is delicious. The ribs, brisket, chicken and all the sides are delicious. The baked beans were my favorite side. The staff was courteous and friendly. I highly recommend eating there if you get the chance.

The restaurant at Captain Whidbey is the hearth of the inn, designed to foster warmth and intimate, meaningful human connection. Our âliving room styleâ design reflects our warm and casual approach to hospitality. We are friends treating friends here. As
We reserved a lunch with friends today on the open-air porch. It was a beautiful day, and the view of the bay from atop the bluff was outstanding. I ended up with a hamburger and fries that was quite good, particularly the bun, the burger and the perfectly-done fries. My companions were quite complimentary of their large and well-presented lunch salads. Unfortunately, we had come to eat mussels and clam chowder, but as we attempted to order, our server informed us that they were out of all dishes with mussels, AND the clam chowder. OK, we reassessed and ordered the Burrata; nope, that too was unavailable. This was not like we arrived at the end of lunch, we were there early, our reservation was for 11am! So, we had a nice burger and salads, but left quite disappointed in the lack of availability of the most signature parts of Captain Whidbey's menu.Thank you for sharing your experience ALFriedman, were happy too see that the burger didn't disappoint and sincerely apologize for a few of our menu items being unavailable. We had a very busy labor day weekend over the 3 days and that unfortunately found us a little short in some of the areas, I guess mussels, chowder and burrata were popular dishes this past weekend. We hope to see you again soon so you can experience both dishes. We drove into Coupeville specifically to eat lunch by the water. Toby's looked like a local hangout, just what we wanted. The back windows look out on the water but mostly the place is a darkish bar.We shared fish & chips and clams & chips. Both were good and portions were generous. The slaw tasted of nothing but cabbage but I didn't have room for it anyway.Service was good. Everyone was friendly.Kicked myself I didn't order mussels instead when I heard they bring them out of the water just down the road.

Front Street Grill is located on the waterside of Front Street in Coupeville Washington. We have spectacular views of Mt Baker and the Historic Coupeville Wharf.
Friends from Oak Harbor met us half way for lunch here. Coupeville is famous for their mussels but theyâre my least favorite shell fish. Delighted when I discovered they also have oysters in the half shell which I love. Hubby couldnât make up his mind about beer...they have beer flights with 4 brews...problem solved. I also ordered seared tuna lettuce. They were fine, but Iâm from Hawaii, and the best ever are served at Fairmont Kea Lanai -Koâs Restaurant served a seared ahi that literally melts in your mouth- consistently.Anyway, Front Streets could have used a bit more larb & a few slices had a fat strip that was tough. Mussels in white wine sauce got good reviews- ânice liquorâ. The long cod fish and chips was very nice with plenty of each. Fish battered in Pablo ( and maybe fries dipped in Pablo too?? - nicely soft and crispy! Didnât taste the slaw but apparently it wasnât fabulous. Reasonable selections of red and white wines by glass and more by the bottle. Our lunch for two with 1 glass red & beer flight - $68. View is lovely right over the bay... staff pleasant. We arrived @ 11:45 -people arriving consistently. When we left at 1:15p the place was full.

We came to have dinner here on a weekday , service was good but the food wasnât , we came for local crabs but was sold out and found out they only get them once every couple weeks and not enough to last a week normally , seems strange not to order more if is a good seller ? We ordered the seafood sampler and the whole thing was deep fried , even the salmon ( first for us )We found the food standard very poor here for a tourist town , as this is the number 2 restaurant listed on trip advisor .

My husband had the hazelnut encrusted filet of snapper with frangelico buerre blanc and assorted colors of sweet potato and possibly butternut squash (?). I had the pan seared scallops with a wonderful pasta and harissa. We started with the duck pate which is always my favorite and since it was my birthday, I got to choose. Dessert was white chocolate cheesecake with raspberry coulis for me and a chocolate decadence for my husband. I am glad we live 75 miles away from this place or we would eat there once a week. The kitchen activity is always fun to watch too.
