"The original 131 MAIN Restaurant is located near Lake Norman in Cornelius, North Carolina. The gas lamps, plank siding, outdoor dining veranda, fire pit and a full view of the kitchen and hickory wood fire grill are warm and inviting. 131 MAIN Restaurant
A wonderful early dinner spent with my good friend from Tel Aviv, Chuck. We allowed Chrissy to order for us and we were not dissapointed at all! We both had fish, the Haddock special and NC rainbow trout. We also had a nice caeser salad. The curried local corn was excellent and we finished the meal with one scoop a vanilla ice cream. We both hope to come back soon, the whole experience was excellent!Awesome! We will let Crissy know. Joe

We thought weâd do something a little more special for Motherâs Day and made a reservation for 6:15. When we arrived at 6:10 and we were told it would be 30 mins before we were seated(for our 6:15 reservation). When we were actually seated it was 7:20! Nothing comped, nothing offered! We got bread and our salads relatively quickly. Then we waited... We ended up leaving at 8:45 with no food, still paid for our drinks. Food we ordered bit never got was comped(gee, thanks). Terrible experience on Motherâs Day!!Hi Jackie,We feel terrible that we let you down. Unfortunately, the mixed reviews continue with ours. The location and view are beautiful. And we drove up from Charlotte to try this restaurant weâd heard about with an out of town guest for dinner. If youâre vegetarian, your entrée in general needs to be their Beyond Burger for $12. Otherwise, they will take the fish or meat item off the other entrees, give you a few more veggies but not twice as many, and still charge you the same $27 for the entrée!!! WOW! And they donât highlight on their menu which foods are vegetarian friendly. Instead, the waitress had to go back to the kitchen several times to ask the Chef. Finally, she marked up a menu herself with vegetarian-friendly options herself. They do have some sides that are vegetarian, however. But come on, itâs 2019 for Heavenâs sake.Other feedback:⢠While the beer and wine no longer come in plastic glasses, their water glasses remain 1960ish Diner-style colored plastic. So theyâd listened to negative feedback here about using these same glasses for all drinks. But, come on, simplify your inventory and have all your glasses be real glasses to match your prices.⢠âFullâ Bar â They donât list many mixed drinks on their menu, but our waitress said a bit condescendingly, âWe have a full bar.â However, we had to try 4 times to find a drink their âfull barâ had. They donât carry 1) Malibu/coconut rum, 2) Kahlua or 3) Prosecco. Finally we just picked a red wine from their menu.⢠Enjoyed appetizer Stone Crabs. But they are $7.50 each and they are small to medium sized.⢠Citrus salad was large but thatâs because of so much lettuce. Flavor was OK. But it appeared that it was premade as all the non-lettuce ingredients were grouped together along the edge of the bowl.Overall, as others have said, overpriced, still trying to decide if they want to be an upscale restaurant with excellent food and beverages with an excellent lake view in south central NC or a typical marina eatery of convenience for boaters using Lake Norman. Wonât be back.
