This is my kind of place. Smart, sophisticated ambience, great decor and lighting, tables with dressed with white linen cloths, and, of course, great food and service. This was our second visit but first time for dinner. Service was confident and attentive, food was great, champagne perfectly chilled and presented, prices fair and reasonable. My only suggestion would be that they work on their dessert menu, just to offer a little more choice (but please, not Affogato). All in all a very enjoyable experience we'll definitely return for.

Tried this restaurant first time on a business dinner occasion and I was looking forward to it based on the amount of good reviews. It was a Sunday night and the place was fairly busy. Service was friendly, attentive and quick.I rate this restaurant as average for 2 reasons:1, although the quality of the sashimi was quite good, the gyozas I had were too oily and lacked in taste and presentation. The Okonomiyaki was below average, they used way too much flower in the mix and it was not enjoyable to eat. Felt more like food court type food. 2, the main let down for me in this place is the lack of atmosphere. It doesn’t feel like any Japanese dining experience at all and aside from the type of music being really annoying, it further destroyed any of the atmosphere such a restaurant should have.So overall, ok to try once but I don’t think I’ll go back there as there are better Japanese restaurants in Christchurch.Dear customer, Thank you for your review. Management has passed on your comments to the kitchen regarding the dishes you mentioned you thought were substandard. The music could have been easily changed or turned down if you had only mentioned it. We feel bad that you did not enjoy your visit. Please identify yourself if you ever come back so we can make it up to you.

Fisherman's Wharf Lyttelton

At the Fisherman's Wharf we have the catch phrase,'From the Boat to Plate'and for a very good reason....We have our own local commercial fishing boats and that means our seafood is as fresh as it gets! In fact, we've been fishing as a family for over 50 y

Great service and great food. We sat at the bar overlooking the harbour. Had the Seafood sizzle and dumplings, both excellent.
