If you love to eat well, drink much, and enjoy the simple side of life with a hearty helping of down home music and are not in a rush to go ANYWHERE!
Joanie's is kind of in the middle of nowhere - we were driving between Everglades National Park and Big Cypress park and someone said, this is about the only place for lunch. It's a roadside shack with the most awesome decor, like a hollywood set for a roadside seafood shack! absolutely delicious food (grouper sandwiches, crab cakes and OMG, the key lime pie!) but the best part was our waitress! unfortunately we didn't get her name but she has a personality as big as Texas! Outgoing, loud, and so much fun. We had the best time, and the best lunch!

Ok, we were a group of nine , but were seated without question for lunch. It was fairly busy but not full. Over 1hour later still no food.... we had only ordered wraps and pittas. We had to hold and tell our afternoon boat tour we were running late. The average wraps arrived in take out boxes in dribs and drabs, so we could leave. To be fair we did get a large discount.

Our family spend the afternoon visiting Big Cypress National Preserve and by the end of the trip, we were ready for dinner. After researching online, our kids found Camellia Street Grill and we decided to give it a try. The online reviews were excellent. The restaurant is toward the end of the marina. The outside seating area faces the Gulf of Mexico and the breeze coming from the ocean was very soothing. The ordering process is very simple: you approach the counter, order your food, get a table number, and wait for the food to be brought to you. The food was great. I was impressed by the pork belly tacos, the fries, the hamburger and the steak. I would definitely return to Camellia if we are in the area.

We are currently closed for the summer. We will resume normal business hours starting October 1st. See you in the fall
We wanted to go there for dinner based on their Internet site. When we got there at 5:30, however, it was locked up tight. We later found out that they close at 4 pm. It would have been helpful if their Internet site was updated with their hours of service.

Seasonal Restaurant: October 15 - Mid April Annually Romantic tropical garden cafe with lots of charm. Beautiful, spacious outdoor setting, screened in by palm trees & flowers. The gentle breeze creates a Key West feel. Where traditional Cuban staples and
We visited with friends. We were seated right away. Our waitress was quick, blunt and too the point. No in a rude way but not sociable. We had stone crab claws and I had shrimp. I've had many many shrimp meals that were great. This one was by far the best. We probably won't be back, only because it is so far out of the way. But if we ever bet back to Chokoloskee we will definitely go back and I will order the shrimp again. The prices are high, but keep in mind, you are at the end of the road when you visit the restaurant and community.
