Reviews on Seafood food in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India. The diverse population of Chennai (Madras) is reflected in its rich cultural scene. You’ll find serious theatre as well as the glitz and glamour of Kollywood. Chennai is also an important center for the Bharatanatyam, a local form of classical dance. Visit in January, for the festival of Pongal, or in April, when Chennai celebrates its new year.

Except that the dining area is always in semi-darkness, candle lamps being the sole sources of light, the atmosphere is pleasant and one can listen to the sound of the waves as they lash the nearby shore, as well as to some really outstanding singing by a young man who goes by the name of Jeeva. Ably accompanied on the guitar/keyboards by his father who is also an accomplished R & B musician. The tables are sheltered by thatched pergolas and you can nurse a drink and enjoy the music while your order is being readied. The seafood is fresh and nicely prepared. We had kovalam fish curry and steamed rice, panko fried calamari and grilled sea bream. Bay View with its extensive menu of seafood in a variety of cooking styles is definitely worth a try.

This is a great place to taste authentic South Indian food with some unusual variations. We had Starters from Iyerâs trolley. There were several Dosa variants on offer with their characteristic chutneys from among which the Banana dosas really stood out. We also tried the Kodi Vepudu (Chicken) which was spicy and delicious. Those who are averse to hot food may give this preparation a pass. The deep fried fish preparation â Tallale Jhalke â was very novel and tasty. The Veinchina Mamsam (a hot and spicy mutton curry) went well with Kal Dosas. We ended with the delicate Elaneer Payasam. The environment was unique with Tanjore paintings, waiters in characteristic dresses, and live music. All in all, a great place for having a good time with South Indian food.Dear GuestThank you for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor. I will definitely share the wonderful compliments with the restaurant team and our Executive Chef. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel and restaurant soonWarm Regard'sSukumarRestaurant Manager
