First day on our Hwy 1 Big Sur trip and we stopped in Morro Bay. The Dutchman's Seafood House caught our eye. Was not busy and we got a got a great table inside. Our server Ellie was great. Shared a clam chowder, had prawn and chips, and I had Tuna Melt w Onion Rings. The Tuna was a warm tuna patty, but good.Thanks for the wonderful review, Vic P!We're thrilled your time with us was so fantastic! Stopped in for dinner and were rewarded with nice harbor views, friendly service and a respite from the more touristy places facing the street. My wife had the lobster bisque and a seafood salad and enjoyed both. I ordered the linguini with a pound of clams and was in heaven. Clams and pasta were perfect and the broth was the best Iâve enjoyed in a long time. We liked it so well we returned for breakfast and had another outstanding meal. The Country Benedict was inspired - biscuits and gravy with a large sausage patty and poached egg inserted. I may stop making hollandaise and shift to this.We had a great time and will return.Thank you for sharing your glowing review. It is great to hear that you enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. Mark, and Mark provide simply the freshest high quality fish, and seafood available in both restaurants.The local ocean provides your meal, and is prepared impeccably by thier chefs, and caught by Mark Sr. or other local Morro Bay captains. No need to try another seafood house, just head over to Tognazzini's you won't be sorry.

Windows on the Water has incredible views of the marina and the rock and the sunset. We went for our anniversary dinner while in town. We notified the owners beforehand and asked for a table with a great view which we got. Unfortunately the service and food did not live up to the view. The food was average but for the price the quality should have been much better. We paid $18 for duck bruschetta which included on piece of bruschetta. We both had the fresh local halibut which was over cooked. The service was awful. Our waiter never once refilled our water glasses or asked if we wanted a second drink. It took literally 30 minutes to get the 1 piece of bruschetta. My advice is to go for the view but order drinks. Dear SarabooI want to sincerely apologize for the unpleasant incident you had at our restaurant. Without your feedback I might never have known of it.It is our highest priority to provide our guests with an exceptional dining experience and in this instance we certainly failed to do this. My wife and I had a Saturday brunch. The food was good to very good. Tasty. Not much on presentation. Service was mediocre and staff not very caring. Server poured coffee too fast and spilled onto table but said nothing and walked away. The view and location is excellent so we looked past the service. We recommend for breakfast.

We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed... until now. Starting off, we had the chowder and it was delicious. Then, out came the fish. We had the fish and chips. The fish was sold as cod, but they were very small fillets quite unlike cod, and they had absolutely no flavor. We also had the scallops. They were a pre prepared, probably frozen, tiny pieces of flavorless scallop meat, coated in very thick doughy crust. I think we might try another option for seafood, next time in town. I would like to think it was only a fluke, but, I donât think so.We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your last meal here! If at anytime during your meal you are unsatisfied, we would be happy to remake our order or make something else! We have not changed our recipes in 30 years so we hope you will give us another try!

Came here with family to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Everyone ordered different seafood dishes and we shared appetizers and a bottle of wine. Considering the restaurant is right on the bay and serves fresh catches, plates start at $30!!!! A little pricey although it was very good!

We enjoyed the atmosphere. But, the shrimp breading was heavy. Try a coconut shrimp or they need to reduce the batter a bit. The Halibut, which was $20 also had a hard breading, which ruined the fish. So, the food was ok, but the value of the view and the drinks and the overall vibe was great! I might stick to other areas of the menu, as fish and shrimp weren't their main focus, ahi tuna was. I was told that, I should have listened.Hi Susan, thanks for coming in, and sorry that your dishes didn't match the vibe. Ironically, Halibut & Chips is one of our more popular lunch items, as well as some of our Ahi dishes. Unfortunately it sounds as though the fry cook taste-tested too much of the beer before adding it to the batter, likely accounting for the imbalance in the final product. We tell these guys to make sure everything tastes exactly right, but perhaps we'll be a little more clear that the draft beer is probably just fine without a fourth opinion...Regards,Chad B

We had breakfast two consecutive days at Bill and Carol's Sea Shanty on Ocean Avenue in the quiet Central Coast town of Cayucos, California Eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast (wheat toast dry) doesn't wow most people but when the bacon is thick, crisp,and crunchy with potatoes dry and tasty, we go back for more. Service was pleasant and the food was fresh, prepared with attention and hot. We ate inside and enjoyed looking at all the caps on the ceiling while waiting for our breakfasts.The service was efficient, courteous and friendly. Casual and memorable experience.
