We came here whilst visiting the Brac for the day and had a lovely meal. We both had the goat curry and a non-alcoholic punch. The goat curry was delicious, served with rice and beans and plantain, and the punch was refreshing. The service was relaxed and friendly. Prices are good and the ambience is very traditional. Great restaurant and the ideal place to sample some of the local specialities.

Informal Indoor Restaurant with 32 seats plus 4 buts. A/C, Pool Side Bar with Two TVs and a Patio with 16 seats. Serves Lunch and Dinner
We visited Captain's Table twice. The first time, we went for Tuesday Tacos. We thought that since the tacos were only $2 that they would be small, but they are full-size tacos and delicious! We tried pretty much all the types they offered between the three of us at the table, and every single one was excellent! You can't beat getting a great dinner for such a low price. Service was friendly and efficient that night. The second time we went, we didn't enjoy it quite as much. My fish was a bit overcooked, and we waited for 30 minutes to get our check after our plates had been removed, even though there was only one other table of customers. We sat outside so we were getting munched on by mosquitoes as we waited to pay.So... it seems you might be thrilled or unimpressed, depending on what night you go. I'd still go back for Tuesday Tacos if I had the chance.

My steak - and entire meal - compared to any steakhouse in the states. My steak was fork tender and tasted great. The beats were beyond amazing. Others in my group had the risotto and the fish. Everyone raved about their meal. had the chance to meet the chef (Gregory) and he was so pleasant and down to earth. I think this is probably the only steakhouse at a dive resort in the world and it's a great idea. I will be back! We're so pleased to hear your were pleasantly surprised with the quality of your meal and service during your recent visit, Passport818803! And we agree that Chef Gregory rocks. We thank you for your visit and review and will look forward to serving you another fabulour meal on your next visit.

Our hotel recommended La Esperanza when we asked about a good place on the northeast side of the island. They might as well have said there was nothing there. This may have been a local Caymanian adventure, but it was a poor meal, and trying to navigate the weirdness of it was slightly traumatic. We were glad to leave and still wonder what our hotel was thinking sending us there. If you are feeling brave, look for a colorful pink collection of buildings which include a little market, the restaurant, and a bar looking out over the sea. Signs are confusing. The large sign on the road says âLa Esperanza,â and the building housing the market has a sign saying âLa Esperanza Marketâ while the bar has a separate name and sign. The restaurant is unmarked, except with small posters taped to the market door indicating the dayâs menu. When we were there, there were two items and we tried one of each: the fried chicken had little meat to it and the oxtail was a sort of stew with tough, gristly meat. You pay at the market, then go to the restaurant or the bar with the receipt, where you can order drinks at the bar. The bar tender got up from her dominoes game to get us ours. I think she and the two guys hanging out with her may have been stoned. The bar area over the water didnât have tables, but just a bar with chairs around it and was too windy for comfort. The vibe wasnât great at the main part of the bar, so we went into the restaurant, which was pretty grimy.
