We arrived to this restaurant, very hungry after a long travel day. While the service was nice enough - the food, atmosphere was disappointing. Most disappointing was that they seated us in a hot corner of the restaurant - while locals were ushered out on the porch, patio. We assumed it was not open but were the only ones seated inside. We were in the area a week and never went back.

Our chef knows how important it is, not to follow the fashions in the kitchen. For this, to eat well is for us synonymous of the equilibrium between past and present. We believe in the care of every one of our dishes and in the guardianship of traditional
I went yesterday evening with two friends in this lovely restaurant in the wonderful Maremma countryside. The food was delicious as was the housewine, which comes direvtly from the the estate of the beard owner and cook, Tommaso . You can taste local products from the place including the famous Tortelli maremmami, the wildboard with orange, and the fried artichoke-balls. The setting is very attractive, being the restaurant in a a sort of greenhouse on a prairie. If you are in Maremma it is really worth the detour. I also found the price very reasonable with excellent value for money.Thank you so much for your positive review. The philosophy of Re Sugo is really oriented to preserve the ancient and traditional âmaremmanaâ cuisine with passion and innovation. In Maremma we usually cook wild boar with a classic tomato sauce but, in line with our ideas, we have developed a new recipe with aromatic herbs and oranges. I'm happy that you like it. Another important choice of our restaurant is the selection of typical products from small producers located near to the restaurant. Mr. Silvano Mori is a renowed "salumiere" from the village of Torniella and is very famous because his truffle salami is sold in London by Harrod's. Tomatoes, sauces and vegetables are fresh and we prefer hydroponic crops without chemicals. I hope to see you soon in the Maremma to enjoy good food and a good wine! Porcini, (means little pigs in Italian) are the same mushroom called cèpe (in French), and in Germany, Steinpilz (the "stone mushroom"). They are gathered wild in the woods in the fall and people make some extra money selling them to vendors and restaurants. Here, in Ristorante Rintocco they brought a big plate of the mushrooms for us to see, along with two beautiful fresh fish. We split an antipasto which consisted of a bowl of Tuscan soup, a plate of marinated zucchini and a bruschetta with fresh tomato. I had the home made tagliatelle with the porcini. My husband had fish. My pasta was obviously made by hand and it was slightly over cooked so it stuck together and the porcini sauce was quite sparse. Otherwise everything was good.

They are open all day. When you want lunch after 2 or 3 pm most places are closed. While the pizza oven was off, the one gentlemen running the place made some fantastic pasta (one beef ragu, another with boar) and superb calimari in the insalda di mare. Excellent off-highway location too.

Delicious food from an excellent menu. Shared the best ever bruschetta pomodorro and an insulate Di mare. A lovely selection of calamari, prawns and octopus lightly dressed with a vinaigrette. Shared a Mille feuille also. Delicate and flavor some. Unexpected from this modest looking establishment. Wish we could visit again but sadly just passing through. Lucky people who live here.

If you are in the area, excellent place to visit for a good meal at reasonable prices. Very friendly owners will take you in and make sure you are well fed. You will probably be amongst local families eating out. Also, this is the only decent place to eat in a wide radius as we found out on a Monday evening when they were closed....
