first the upsetting..getting through the order process wasTHE WORST of any restaurant we've been to..the menu and the hostess were no doubt on purpose very confusing and vague...you get two sides..we pick them oh ok..these sides cost extra..we change the sides..those cost extra too...ok give us the normal sides...ok..but you could upgrade for only 2.99...omg !each item we ordered we were asked to upgrade it for only a few dollars more...we didn't upgrade anything..the waitress even attempted to get our children to upgrade until we had to step in and put a stop to it...in the end our 4 dinners plus tip was still almost 200.00...never again cowboy...the food was so laden with salt that it was difficult to eat..we had to scrape it off the steaks...then "bread" before dinner was too salty to eat even for the kids who were starving !...a caesar salad again..all salt ....do you guys not have any there spice ideas except salt...no one likes this !we went home and had too drink water the rest of the night to get the burning out of our mouths..this place has gone so far down hill we will NEVER return !Hi, Joe T. Extensive variety of selections. Some very good and some not so good. Even with the better dishes, the quality and temperature of the food can be very dependent upon "turnover". Best when just bought out from the kitchen and not that appetizing when it has been sitting there for some time. So, like almost all buffets, the food is generally fresher and better when they are busy right at lunch and dinner times, but then when it is really busy, you can have other issues.

We provide our fish-loving friends with high quality, scrumptiously healthy seafood, in an enjoyable atmosphereâall at a great price. #CaliforniaFishGrill
We had the sea bass grilled. Fish was correctly prepared, well seasoned and fresh tasting. Most of the fish selections are likely frozen, but still tasty. Side dishes of white rice and grilled zucchini. Rice was also correctly prepared and grilled zucchini was a huge slab. Hard to find a table inside during busy hours.

After reading the recent reviews for "On The Hook" it's almost like we dined at a different restaurant. We found the service at best, inadequate. An excessive amount of time passed before our first entree was served (Jambalaya), another 10 minutes passed before our second entree (Cajun Catfish) arrived. Both entrees were served with no silverware. Having said that, both the Jambalaya and Cajun Catfish were quite good.

Every once in a while, Taps does a special dinner paired with wine. This time around it was paired with Scotch and Whiskey! This was a 3 course meal paired with a wide palette for Scotch & Whiskey drinkers: from mild (Suntory Scotch) to a heavy mossy Laphroaig for the 2nd course and Jim Beam, Black Extra Aged for the final course.Approximately, 70 people joined the occasion, held out in the patio area, may have not been the best location, since the patio is next to Imperial Highway and with evening traffic, the hearing competition was at it's highest. The Chef has a culinary series, a farm vineyard to table specials and this one was Interesting: 1- Tempura Squash Blossom paired with Japanese Scotch. 2-House Cured Skuna Bay Salmon paired with Laphroaig Scotch. And lastly, Bourbon marinated Duck Breast with the Jim Beam Whiskey. All 3 pairing were very good. Price fixe dinner was $69 each. Not Bad! But, it did not include dessert nor coffee, which in my mind should have been. The allocation of Scotch & Whiskey was to say, minimal. So, as compared to Wine, I would like to have a little more offerings to savory the taste of scotch with the meal. All in all, it was a nice evening, joined by John, my Father-in-law and my Son, Noah. And Cheers to Noah, on to the Wharton MBA program.Cheers to Noah, indeed! Thank you so much for sharing your feedback and enjoying our World of Whisky 3 course dinner, along with your son, father-in-law and John. We do have these events often, so your feedback is definitely helpful in making sure we provide you with an even better experience the next time. Thank you again, we hope to enjoy a return visit from you in the future.
