Friendly local that's been a family business since the 1830s. It's close to the River Scheldt and has an outdoor eating area. But the outdoor area is messy, the antiquity of the building isn't really obvious and it's all a bit tatty and tired. And they need an espresso machine. But the pretty old tiles behind the stove in the main bar area make a visit worthwhile.

We decided to have dinner here on a whim, without a reservation. The place was pretty full (Sunday night) but we still got a nice table in a cosy corner. We ordered one of the dayâs suggestions, the côte à lâos. It was served in a perfect way: seignant (bloody meat), with a juicy and crunchy side salad, crunchy (not greasy or soggy) fries, a hot pepper sauce and a cold bearnaise. The portion was obviously very sizeable (order for two), so first course or dessert was not really needed. We saw a lot of nice dishes appear on the other tables, and the price-quality ratio was excellent, so weâll definitely be back for more. One tip for the owners: it would be good to have a choice of more sauces for meat dishes (e.g. hot bearnaise).

It's all Italian at this place. The cooks (one for pasta's & one for oven baked pizza's), the waiters, the music and ambiance are all Italian. It's recommended to call in advance to block your seat. You can also call in for take out. The food is great !!

My wife and I rode our bikes on a tour of Belgium in September 2014. We stopped here on a Sunday around lunch time for coffee and a drink.First off, this place is located right off the bike path, so if you are on bikes it is very convenient for you to lock it up and wander right in for your meal. We sat outside on the patio which was almost full that afternoon. We had recently eaten lunch, but we needed to get a pick me up to finish our ride from Mechelen to Temse, so we stopped here. The service was prompt, and they were able to help us with our lack of Flemish or French. I ordered a shot of Jenever and my wife enjoyed her coffee. I wish we had been hungry because the eel at this location is supposed to be excellent. Maybe I'll get a chance to return and try it sometime.

Great ambience, great food, service occasionally poor - we had to ask three times for a bottle of water. The head waitress was very helpful and tried to accommodate my non dairy, gluten and yeast diet. The only fail was the cream as decoration on the berries I had for dessert. The location is breathtaking and sitting on the terrace during a long summer evening is immensely pleasurable.

very good concept, in the same building is also an art gallery , Wilford X with temporary exhibitions and when the food on your plate is also dressed like a painting, the circle is round ! The chef was recently nominated as a " young Kitchen Force " you can find him in the Gault Milault also, so I should say , give it a try and you will not be disappointed !

one star michelin at a reasonble price - I appreciated the market menu's and- really good idea- accompanied" by BOB formula "wines. Hence , you can still drink the wines at at half the glass enabling you to enjoy without the fear of drinking too much. The terrace with green surroundings is really lovely! Service was swift and friendly. Cheese of the dessert tray offered a really large selection to choose from. This was my third time here but I will surely come back again.

We are a small gastronomic "Biestro", with a sharp eye on real, tasty and quality products. A place to feel yourself at home.
Four of us had lunch at H-eat and loved every single one of our dishes! Four starters, main courses and desserts â everything was impeccable. While the dishes reflect an unpretentious bistro style, the quality of the ingredients and of the cooking elevates them to a superior eating experience. Interesting wine selection, and excellent wine service all throughout our meal. All of the waiting staff was as cordial as they were professional. From the open kitchen, the chef takes the time to greet guests as they arrive and leave the restaurant, which is a nice touch. Our visit was absolutely perfect, from beginning to end. With only 30 seats, make sure to reserve well ahead of time â definitely worth it!
