Stopped here at last minute and the folks keep the restaurant open late for us... We did the parmigianas - eggplant, chicken, and veal. Huge portions of excellent food. Even the pre-dinner salad was huge - full dinner-sized plate. Loved every bit of it - esp the extra service to some folks who had been on the road for a very long time.

Had lunch here the other day and it was the best fish we had in years. We both had something different and shared half of each, one was Tuna sandwich & other was Lobster Roll. It was excellent, big chucks of lobster on the roll, just over flowing with meat. The tuna was cooked to our liking served on a roll also and was great. The atmosphere was excellent, beautiful pictures on the walls of Long Island beach and light houses. Great place you'll definitely enjoy this restaurant.

View, located in Oakdale, offers diners top-notch seafood with a breathtaking view of the Great South Bay. The menu consists of small and big plate options, from the land and the sea, as well as a sushi bar.
I probably called at least a dozen places to try to find a place with outdoor seating that took reservations. The View fit the bill. Not only was the food amazing but so was the View! There was live music and even a fireworks show across the bay at Fire Island. I can't wait to go back to try everything on the menu.

We stopped by for a very late lunch and the place was empty (thought it was closed) but it was open and we were in between the lunch and dinner crowds.Service was great, really welcoming. I had a Blue Point Pumpkin Beer which rocked and the Flounder Sandwich: awesome! My wife had the Cod taco's, there were fantastic. We had a great lunch, price was slightly high for lunch but still we were very happy and totally stuffed. Wonderful meal, highly recommended.

We went for lunch and ordered the broiled seafood platter and king crabs legs. The seafood tasted very fishy, and was dry. They cut the crab legs in half, and they were dry too. Over priced for the quality of the food. $12.50 for a bowl of soup, and it was ok. Panera Bread has better tasting soup for a quarter of the price. Service was ok. We received our desserts with no forks, and the runner never came back with the forks. Not impressed. They should be serving fresh fish, but it was not good.We would like to thank you for your comments and review on your recent visit to the Snapper Inn and of course are very concerned about your experience and would like to address it immediately. As you can see by our other reviews we always strive for the highest quality food and service guests have come to expect through the years. If you wouldn't mind sending us an email so we can communicate with your directly we would greatly appreciate it.Thank you again for your comments

Casual waterfront clam bar.
Great casual alternative for dining on the water. It is perfect for watching the sunset and the water birds. It has a nice selection of seafood burgers and salads at a fairly reasonable price compared to the other waterfront restaurants on Long Island. We were happy to see that they are using paper straws. Foodwise, the everything was fine except that my chicken had the consistency of rubber, but we would still go back for the location.

We've been coming here for at least four years now (so long in fact that one of their first 'waving Roadside Lobsters' was one of my apprentices and now has become a journeyman carpenter). We always and I do mean always grab our seafood here throughout the year, the fish is always fresh, the oysters that we grill are nothing short of sweet, the clams are of equal quality and they are a mandatory stop at least once a month when Peconic Bay Scallops are in season. We come here at least 4 to 5 times throughout the summer to dine outside in the able seating to enjoy the many seafood dinner selections they offer. Whether your eating there or taking it home to grill yourself ...you'll never be disappointed.
