The restaurant was almost empty on a Sunday night, so the service was a bit slow too with only one waiter. I ordered the whale carpaccio as a starter because I never had it before, but apparently quite normal in these parts. It tasted like beef, although a bit salty. I also ordered the fish soup as my main dish, and had expected it to be thicker like a chowder, but it was not bad. I did enjoy dessert - three chocolate truffles, each with a different filling.

Chose this restaurant out of what we could only see as two choices on the harbour front - thought this would be quieter but there was a tour group of 60 eating -after they said grace!Fish had a lovely light batter and tasted very fresh - thought we were getting pickled cucumber with it but got pea purée instead -betterThe wrong wine was delivered but otherwise service ok So glad we werenât staying here! We arrived on the train from Trondheim -10 hour journey -great scenery and then got a flight to Lofoten

We serve everything from norwegian traditional food to gourmet food, breakfast and buffets. Scenic view of Saltstraumen, the Saltenfjord and the mountain range Borvasstindene.
Saltstraumen Hotel as is OK, the luch and dinner servings are ok too. The price level is acceptable. All in all, it's worth a visitif not only for the view. Situated along the famous maelstrom with av view towards the mountains, that's more than acceptable.

Stumbled upon this place that used to be a brown pub. Great wine and food. Not too much people yet, due to it recently opened up.
