Eight of us had very good food here. Nice menu, good drinks selection, very good service in a casual atmosphere. If you like loud music, this is the place for you. If you would prefer to hear your dinner companions speak, maybe not. The volume of the music cost The Local a star from me. Our musician friend says if the drummer would switch from sticks to brushes, problem solved.

We brought our daughter and her spouse here to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. We had a reservation through Open Table, and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions and explanations of the menu items. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious! We enjoyed the calamari and raw oysters as appetizers. There is a nice wine, liquor, and beer selection, though we chose not to imbibe at this dinner. The entrees included a tossed salad with garbanzo beans and beets, and little corn muffins. The sides everyone chose were excellent. We didn't have room for dessert, but the ones we saw looked very good. The only downside is that the restaurant is a bit on the loud side, but we were still able to converse at our table of four. I recommend this for a special occasion.

Went in with friends after church. I and another friend ordered the onion and mushroom burger. Now I've had their burgers before, and they were great. But this time both our burgers were burnt on the outside, to the point of being crispy. We didn't send them back because it took forever to get them, we figured it would take a long time again. Service is usually really good here, but that day it was terrible. Slow and not very friendly. Most of the usual servers have quit and I had never see the girl that waited on us. I usually order the chicken sandwich which is pretty good. It's a small place and parking is difficult since the outdoor store moved into the old train depot across the RR tracts.

This place is INCREDIBLE and shatters the myth of avoiding seafood restaurants in the mountains. Don't be fooled by its humble exterior nor down home look inside. The food here is beyond comparison AND dwarfs ANY seafood restaurant in Atlanta. The food is fresh and can be prepared in a multitude of styles (broiled, fried, grilled or blackened). Regardless of what you choose, you won't be disappointed.BTW, take advantage of the gas station store next door and buy yourself a cold beer to go with dinner.

I have always been a big fan of Captain D's. The lady at the drive thu window was very friendly and helpful. The food was hot but it wasn't the best fish I had ever got a Captain D's. But since I was starved I certainly ate my fill.

As a Maryland crab cake snob, I have to say they serve a good crab cake. I was definitely hesitant, but took the chance and Iâm glad I did. My husband got the blackened catfish. We started our meal with oysters Rockefeller and ended our meal with the white chocolate cake. Everything was very tasty and we will be back when in the area again! We were also fortunate enough to be seated outside right away instead of having to wait for an inside table, and enjoyed the live entertainment.
