At The Lobster Pound, our philosophy is simple: serve great food and treat guests like family. That philosophy was born in 1926, when The Lobster Pound served its first customers in the exact same spot where it stands today. From day one, weâve been commi
total rip off....total tourist trap...our food was marginal at best...something you could get in a frozen tv dinner....even worse my daughter and granddaughter begged us to bring them each a cup of lobster stew home.....$30 for two cups each having no more than a table spoon of lobster....the rest was milky lobster mush and cream....I almost drove back and demanded my money back....and we're just a couple of old hillbillies and never complain....good thing they have summer people to take from...best advice....drive right past this place.....shameful.....shameful.....

It's hard to find clam strips, so that was a big reason we tried this place. Glad we did. Had clam strip combo with haddock. Others had lobster, seafood chowder, cheeseburger, and haddock bites. All were very good. AND...they have Allagash White! Good service, casual decor, lots of parking. Good choice for excellent fried seafood.

They close at 7 PM. We arrived at 6.55 and were welcomed in, but after 10 min. they started to clean up around us. The food was belowe avarages, don´t get the lobster, they only use claw meat and scrimp. The salmon was overcooked and really dry.

Ocean's Edge Restaurant specializes in quality cuisine, made fresh and served in a comfortable, casual atmosphere with exceptional views of Penobscot Bay.
My Wife and I were staying at the hotel that connects to this restaurant over Memorial Day weekend. In the past, I have typically found that eateries physically connected to hotels lack a bit in taste, quality, or are overpriced for the product that you receive. This is NOT the case for âThe Oceanâs Edgeâ. We were promptly seated near one of the windows that provided a great, wide view of Penobscot Bay. The wait staff was friendly, and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. My Wife ordered the âBaked Stuffed Halibutâ, which came with a side of wild rice, and broiled seasonal veggies. I chose the âSeafood Platterâ- seafood broiled, not fried, with the same side choices. Our order arrived surprisingly quickly, given that the place was fairly full of guests. Both entrees were prepared nearly perfectly, with ample serving sizes to meet even my âneedsâ (I am a âbigâ eater). My Wife couldnât finish her meal due to the larger serving sizes, and our server offered to wrap the actual dinner plate up for her to take to our room, rather than offering a styrofoam container. This proved to be very beneficial to the taste quality when she later heated up the leftovers for a late evening âsnackâ. Great service, terrific waitstaff, delicious food, large serving sizes, and a fantastic view of the nearby bay to boot...I doubt that we could have visited a better place to enjoy a âweekend awayâ meal. Great job to all concerned! We will return again, to be sure.Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad that you and your wife enjoyed everything! I agree with you that, typically, hotel restaurants are only a place to fill a dietary hole. I am fortunate to have a wonderful culinary and service team who genuinely care about a guest's experience. I hope that you two can visit us again soon.Sincerely,Barry Asalone

Steaks, seafood and kicked up comfort food on Belfast Harbor. Sit outside on our deck steps from the harbor in season or inside in our cozy dining room year round. Open for lunch and dinner every day. Daily specials, local seafood and produce, local beer
This is a friendly, comfortable spot with excellent views of the harbor. The food was good, but not spectacular. We had their lobster Mac & cheese and seafood pie. We also shared a Caesar salad which was both large and good. This is a good spot for a casual dinner with a view.

Seeking more fresh seafood, we stumbled on Youngs. When we walked up, we were addressed by a team of employees. It seemed like they were jockeying for position, and pushy like taxi cab drivers. We took a few minutes to figure out what we wanted, which seemed to upset our order taker. We had the haddock sandwich, and a crab sandwich. We also ordered chowder. Everything was fine, but took longer than we expected. Maybe we were expecting something different service-wise, but the view on the water more than made up for whatever we missed otherwise.
