Things to do in Beckley
Average day at a buffet, but when our waitress came to the table left a card with her name and said I'll be back. After my wife went to the hostess area twice for refills an she had walked by us 6 times without any notice we left. NO TIP!!!!! I'm usually a 30% guy so she missed out.
Where to eat Steakhouse food in Beckley: The Best Restaurants and Bars
This place looks good from the outside, but it's just your basic fast food fish joint. The menu is confusing with misleading menu choices that can end up costing you more money than you think you are spending. And the staff on duty were clueless about what the menu items are. Her response "You're not from around here, are you!" says it all. She had to call the short-order cook out to explain the food items. But they do have senior's prices on Wednesday and at $4.99 the price for the basic order is good. Just watch out for the add-on extras that cost more. I had the grilled wild salmon, my partner had the Tilapia (which I always avoid) and both were nicely cooked without breading and not greasy. They did have way too much salt and pepper for my taste and it was probably that way to disguise the taste of the fish.
We were in Beckly, WV on New Year's Day 2015 and many restaurants were closed. We were going to go to the Mexican restaurant recommended by the hotel clerk but thought we wantEd something a bit lighter to decided on fish at Long John Silver's. The food itself was surprisingly good and the staff who took our order was friendly enough but after that they all disappeared and it seemed like they were having a private party in the kitchen. When I wanted a refill on my soft drink I waited a long time at the counter and no one came to see what I wanted so I just helped myself. When my husband and I left they were still in the kitchen. The place itself is in dire need of an update with rickety tables and worn, dirty floors. Next time if we go here it will be for take out.
