Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Bayeux, Normandy, France. The northern French town of Bayeux is best known for the eponymous tapestry that depicts the 11th-century Norman Conquest. You can see it, of course, on display at the Bayeux Tapestry Museum. The cloth’s original home was the Bayeux Cathedral, which still towers over the area, looking a bit like a Gothic wedding cake. Inside you’ll find beautifully detailed murals and haunting crypts. Bayeux makes an excellent jumping off point to tour nearby historic WWII sites.

Staying near the town we went in for dinner, normally a restaurant on a boat is a tourist trap with food to match but this was excellent food at a very reasonable price and cudos to the young chef who prepared it in a relatively small open kitchen. Apart from us all the rest of the full restaurant were French, and English was a little limited but the staff were very helpful and cooperativeThe whelks, which were something new to us were amazingly good, sea snail sounds a bit daunting to many but beautiful sweet meat and the oysters were also fantastic and fresh. Some of the best scallops I have ever eaten, huge and tasty- preparation wasnât overdone but with such good food you donât need to overwork it. Wine list is small but more than adequate. The kids food was also great, well cooked fish, not fried thankfully for a change and my son loved the young dog that was on the front of the boat- not allowed in the restaurant if that bothered people. The complementary glass of calvados was just a bonus to a very nice meal - donât miss the scallops. Credit cards were taken without any issue.

My wife and I went here with my mother in law and brother in law for dinner. No reservation required. Being a fishing village we all had seafood. In short-amazing! From mussels, to periwinkles, shrimp, escargot, crawfish, langostinos.....never had anything like it. The Camembert sauce for the mussels was heavenly. 2 bottles of wine and fantastic service. All for less than 140 euros. Canât praise it highly enough. Absolutely recommend.

A restaurant that can only be described using the superlative, regarding all of its aspects! The absolutely excellent food is what determined me to spend my vacation days in Normandy once again, and I I think that says a lot! The menu is diverse, varying from chicken, duck, beef and fish to all kinds of savory seafood! Everything is fresh and cooked at a perfect pace, so that you don't wait too long for your food; the portions are friendly and stuffing; the plating is on point; you can work up an appetite by simply looking at the dishes! There are also starter plates, salads, desserts, drinks; basically everything that you could want. The service is on a Speedy Gonzales level; very fast! The hosts are incredibly welcoming and friendly, treating their customers with warmth and professionalism. There are two terraces: one of them is covered, whilst the other is in open air with a view of the sea. The are approximately 100 seats available for those clients that can appreciate amazing food, an exceptional personnel and a welcoming atmosphere. Reservations are required, and to me, that seems absolutely fitting! I am certain I shall return again and again, because such a thing is not to be missed!Thank you La Barak'a, I am delighted to have had the luck and the honor to find you and relish with my whole being what you offer!
