Came here for an aperitif before dinner at the old port and had a lovely time. The bar has a very relaxed vibe, good cocktails and tasty tapas... Service was a little on the slow side but was made up my extra friendliness.

My first visit to Corsica; starting in the south at Bonifacio, swamped with tourists, then an apartment in genteel Ajaccio, Bonaparteâs birthplace; then significant driving on slow winding roads to the islandâs centre, ending up in Bastia; northern gateway to the ferry trade as an ancient port. Restaurants circle the old port which has moorings for about 500 odd sailing craft, to the side is the ferry terminal. Corto is one of the dozen or more various eating houses overlooking these moored craft. It has a classy decor, tanks teeming with live lobster and other premium crustaceans (Tourteau or crab). Though the tourist season was on the close ( restaurants looking bare of customers). It was a Saturday night so locals were promenading early in Corsicaâs second largest city. Corto had good service and a happy approach by the staff as my French had improved after a weekâs practice; and discussion over wines was to find a local rose with some interest to pair with tuna tartare; nearby Calvi-based A Ronca 2018 made from the local red grape sciaccarello; a cool rose, nice chew. Tuna contained diced avocado; curiously at times the avo was served partly-ripe, not buttery, but not this time. Some chefs here were not in the know about avocado, an Australian staple. The whole fish, lobster or crabs can be reasonably expensive; expect to easily spend 100-200 euros; so check what is coming with a price quotation if you are counting your travel funds; though I have enjoyed what I have ordered while on this island. Look at my pictorial of prices I have attached. The rose ran out very fast: a good drop. So for the other course of a cold seafood selection (three types of prawns, crab, lobster and scampi) I sought a vermentino or vermentinu ; fuller body than the rose too. It came as Clos Necrosi 2018; further north on the Cape at Rogliano, a rustic and chewy style in need of winemaking advice. Seafood: great, sweet crab, aromatic lobster, juicy red prawns and scampi; but I left the tiny grey harbour prawns which were mainly shell, not flesh; too hard to peel, better for soup. The rouillé or garlic mayonnaise was super, mild in chili.Iâd advocate to go for a walk around the Old Port here; expect a Mediterranean treat and some top seafood; and have a glass of Champagne in one of the bars first. If you seek an excellent spirits and wine stockist, enoteca or similar, seek out the super shop LâEmpreinte, also epicerie, in Bastia centre, just up from the Tourist office. And we enjoyed Bastia before taking the ferry to Livorno. One question for the tourism authorities: make it easy to find the departure point, and articulate the boarding process for passengers, and better still provide safe stowage for large baggage; humping it up 4 lift levels in over crowded decks is not satisfactory!Voila.Merci pour votre visite.

The restaurant looks appealing, we saw a few times already and really felt this evening we wanted to eat pizza. The prices are average and in comparison with other restaurant in Saint-Florent quite reasonable. Pizza was very tasteful and good. However the waiters were not friendly at all and the restaurant acts as a big machine to process as much tables / pizzas as they can. So good food but not really a dining experience.

Our hotel suggested the old town for dinner and we wandered over and started checking out the restaurants. Cote Marine looked most appealing and they had room for use without a reservation. We had moule in white wine, whohle dorade, Corsican pizza, and a liter of local wine. It was incredible. On leaving, we made a reservation to return in a few days and once again enjoyed a real treat

My wife and I ate here on our penultimate evening in Corsica. We'd had plenty of "good food" during our holiday but we fancied some "great food", especially some super-fresh seafoodFor our main courses my wife had the swordfish steak and I had the king prawns and scallops, both really delicious. Probably the meatiest and tastiest king prawns I've ever had.For dessert we had the mille feuille with raspberry and the chestnut profiteroles. Out of this world. All accompanied by a couple of glasses of very good (and very well chilled) local wineThe service was very efficient and professionalThe total meal including two courses, wine, water and tip came to â¬100 so definitely not a cheap night out but incredibly worthy of a special occasion or an occasional holiday indulgenceHighly recommended

The food was ok, the Sole for 2 was tender, juicy. The service was friendly but very inefficient with long wait times for just about everything. The biggest problem was the price. 144 euros for a main course and a bottle of wine. Some of that is my bad for ordering the fish that is charged per 100gm without knowing the weight. But to me that price is outrageous for Sole.If you really want to go, have the menu of the day.you take a local fish, and of course the price depend that your choice. I hope you appreciate the fish.

Thanks to the know-how of our old ... we produce Boutargue de Mulet whole or grated, Salad of Octopus, Carpaccio Tuna and Salmon smoked with the herbs of Corsican maquis, a vast selection of Sardinian and Corsican Cheeses , dried tomatoes, olives seasoned
We found this cute restaurant across from our hotel. Situated just off the train tracks across from a strip mall, my expectations were not that high. Well I was blown away by the quality of food being served and the attentive staff and manager. Had some of the best pasta of my 2 week trip that included Italy. Turns out chef if Italian... We were happy to have such a great last meal in Europe trip!

Found this charming restaurant wondering through Bastia. Rarely have we eaten so well at such a reasonable price, ambiance fantastic, service excellent. The quality of ingredients was amazing, mostly organic. They were even able to accommodate my wife's gluten intolerance as the co-owner is also gluten intolerant, I definitely recommend this restaurant. The gelato is out if this world too.
