Mariscos Fredi is conveniently located on Highway 200 just west of the Barra de Navidad turnoff. It's a medium size restaurant whose specialty is shellfish, but which also features fish dishes. I'm allergic to shell fish, so I had the Talapia fish, smothered in garlic and butter. It was very good. The feeling is friendly, the service is very good, and the prices are very attractive. However, I wouldn't recommend it for those who can't eat shellfish.

Two reasons: Great service and very good food. One of only two restaurants where our group had fast dinner service with a staff who even remembered who ordered what! My Sea Master Roll (fish fillet stuffed with shrimp and slathered with a garlic cream sauce and pecans) was delicious. Vegetables were steamed perfectly. All other guests expressed delight with their dinners, too.

We were lucky to be included in a fish fry at Lidias. We were staying nearby at Playa Grande where a fellow caught a 250 lb Marlin. Lidias cooked it up for all of us three different ways. Battered, garlic and in a red sweet sauce. It was a night to remember overlooking the bay and the lights of the Grand bay resort.

This restaurant requires a boat trip out to the tip of a peninsula which is provided free of charge by the restaurant. Service was great and prompt. Food was priced fair and drinks were good.We sat on the open air deck projecting out over the water. This is a good sized restaurant.

Visited the restaurant with a large group of friends. We took a short boat ride from our hotel and we were greeted by very friendly staff. The place is very rustic with plastic chairs and metal tables but very authentic. Did not particularly like my shrimp cocktail or their special "fish roll"... but some in my party got grilled lobsters and they looked amazing... very affordable too! Good place to chillax and enjoy a true Mexican seafood place. Bathrooms were spotless! A definite plus!

Battered shrimp was over cooked and hard to eat . The battered Marlin was over cooked as well, so the edge of the serving was not edible. I have not been served shrimp with the skins on for a long time. When garlic shrimps are cooked with the skins on there is no flavour to them. The location was nice but the food leaves a lot to be desired.

The chef and owner knows what he is doing. The Mac and cheese that is on the appetizer section is amazing and should be a main entree. Salads are wonderful and satisfying. Music was fabulous with Doug Pettigrew, Danny Beal and Bonnie Gibson.

This is not a large restaurant and it is along a side street. It is a family-run restaurant with great service and very enjoyable food. Don't overlook this gem.

4 of us for dinner-all of us felt the same about our experience. We sat on the balcony overlooking the water which was very pleasant. Excellent service. Meals: Garlic shrimp; red snapper; veal wienerschnitzel all were superb with beautiful presentation. Had flan for dessert also very tasty. Would highly recommend this restaurant for an evening meal.

I can't imagine slower service. The first trip here the food was quite good but we waited 45 minutes after twice asking for our check. We went a few days later and the portions of molcajete we're drastically smaller. We ordered two portions to share amongst four people which was plenty the first night. The second trip the portions were drastically smaller. We also ran out of tortillas twice and finally gave up asking and finished without tortillas. I felt the service and inconsistency are not worth the higher prices charged here. Much better food, service and prices can be found in Barra.
