Atlanta has been dubbed everything from the "capital of the new South" and "the next international city" to "the best place to do business." It's also a great place to visit. Fueled by the prosperity of local mega companies like Coca Cola and Holiday Inn, the prestige of hosting the 1996 Summer Olympic Games and the energy of young upwardly mobile types who have migrated to the city in droves - Atlanta is on fire. And this time it's a good thing. From world-class restaurants and a myriad of cultural attractions to a hip nightlife and sporting events galore, the city is cosmopolitan in every sense of the word. But Atlanta has also managed to maintain its historic character. Stop by the Atlanta History Center or visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site, a moving tribute to an American icon. Browse through the former home of famous author Margaret Mitchell or pop into the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum for details on the life and times of the former president and his family. Whether you choose modern urban endeavors or old southern pleasures, Atlanta will not disappoint.

Kyma is a contemporary seafood tavern with an inventive yet approachable menu that stays true to its Mediterranean origins. Kymaâs dazzling constellation display on the deep blue ceiling, white marble columns and bold fresh fish display are dramatic while
Haven't been here in years, but we noticed the menu had broadened a bit and thought it was time to revisit. Had the delightful red pepper and feta mezze as a starter. Excellent! I had the prawns - massive little buggers over a lovely Greek style salsa. Very tasty! My husband had the lamb chops, perfectly cooked and delicious. Had a small bump with the prawns, as I like mine cooked past the translucent stage and had ordered them as such, but they came out underdone for me. As always at a Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, the staff bent over backward to make sure I was happy. Dessert sampler was so much fun and each of the three selections would have been the perfect way to end the meal, but together they were a slam dunk. We will return.Thank you for the kind words! We look forward to serving you again soon!

Located in downtown Atlanta about 1.5 blocks from the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, this is an excellent restaurant for steaks and seafood. We tried the broiled seafood platter - fresh catch (it was salmon the night we went), lobster tail, jumbo shrimps, and scallops (or you can do double shrimp!). Very tasty and delicious! An excellent venue for business meetings and special occasions; extensive wine list.

We love this place, not just because they have good reliable food but because of the location and their outdoor deck. The deck is at the second floor and seems to be built in the tree tops. Great vibe and lighting. Weâll be back next time weâre in town!

I had always heard good things about The Optimist so when my son took his dad out for a Braves game, my daughter-n-law and I made a reservation, loaded up the two kids (an 18 months old and a 4-month-old) and opted to treat ourselves. The restaurant is located in a revitalized area near downtown Atlanta. Valet parking is available underground in a parking garage for an adjacent apartment complex. Our time eating out with our 18th-month-old granddaughter has just about hit a wall as she is no longer content to sit and eat while we sit and eat. So our outing to The Optimist was no different regarding her behavior but thankfully we were seated at a great booth near the bar where the sound level was loud enough to drown out her unhappy moments--plus our waitress was more than kind and accommodatingand very engaging with my granddaughter. The seafood is some of the best I've had---especially considering the restaurant being in the heart of Atlanta and not near any ocean. My granddaughter had fish and chips. The fish was so fresh and crisp I told the waitress that this needed to be offered to adults. She did tell me that they served a fish sandwich at lunch that utilized the same fried fish "fingers."My daughter-n-law and I both split an order of hushpuppies then I had the swordfish and she had the scallops---both of which were delicious.A storm had broken out so we opted to stay a bit longer for dessert. We opted to split a boozy sorbet that was light and refreshing while our granddaughter had a scoop of vanilla icecream. There is key lime pie and a few other tantalizing options.I definitely plan to go back, next time taking my husband as he would love the fresh variety of fish...and we will just have to leave the little ones behind. There is a large oyster bar that greets guests by the hostess stand offering a wide variety of oysters...so there is dining options near the oyster bar or more of a full dining experience.Like I say, I can't wait to go back.

An Atlanta icon known for its exceptional food and service, Chops consistently ranks as one of the top ten steakhouses in the country. Exquisite seafood flown in fresh daily and the very best USDA prime aged beef are served with style in the warm ambiance
Our steaks were prepared well and good cuts if a tad pricey. But the good news ends there. My martini was a gin and tonic with olives, what? Drink service is VERY slow. We had a coupon for $25 which is a series so we should have earned one for next month plus a bonus for next month but they wouldnât honor it. I donât care about the $25 but thatâs some crap. Probably the worst waiter I have had in a year. For the price Atlanta has better steak houses.

The concierge at our hotel arranged a last minute reservation here the night of our arrival. I wasn't particularly wanting Italian and was skeptical when I learned it was just across from the hotel. But occasionally you get lucky. We shared several pastas and appetizers and everything was excellent. This is not red sauce & pizza; it's American interpretation of haute Italian, in good way. The room is attractive and lively without being too loud. Comfortable chairs & tables, good servive. I would return.

If you love top class service and mouth-watering good food, then this is the place!!! Visiting to celebrate a friend's birthday and had the pleasure of having Darrin for our server...he is the BEST!!! He took. excellent care of us, explaining, advising and checking in on us frequently even though he had other tables. You must order the lobster tails, the salmon or the grouper..they're all well-prepared, even the Rib eye steak was amazing and very tender! The bread pudding for dessert was mouthwatering. We prefer to be served warm bread, but once we mentioned it to Darrin he immediately provided such. The manager even stopped by and was very pleasant. Will definitely be returning for another exceptional meal with Darrin!!!!

iâve eaten Sushi in Hong Kong, San Fran, NY, and LA, but nothing tops UMI in ATL. The Oturo, Yellowtail with Jalapeño, Salmon Nigiri, Rock Shrimp, Avocado with Wasabi vinegarette all were best in class. We sat at the sushi bar which is fun to watch and talk to these amazing craftsman do their thing, they are ARTISTS with their creations, and great to converse with. The waiters are very helpful and extremely attentive. Yes it is expensive, but worth every penny to experience delectable food and first rate service. Kudos to mgmnt.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. Copeland's never disappoints when it comes to food or service.Everything is Hot and Fresh. Server was extremely attentive. Bar tenders were funny and knowledgeable. The only drawback is that there are TONS of people there on Sunday. Either come early or be prepared to wait.

Ate here when accompanying my wife on a business trip. Had a mix of starters, rolls and ngiri, which other than the tasteless tuna tartare--all the more surprising since the toro, maguro and tuna crunch, which the restaurant graciously replaced the tartare with were all great)--were all good to excellent. I'd generally choose the ngiri over the rolls, which were good but a bit on the busy side. Service was pleasant and competent, although I'm always a bit suspicious of sushi restaurants which don't want to supply soy sauce because the chefs think that they are perfect as delivered. Nice space with an attractive, diverse crowd. Not the greatest value--we spent $270 with just a $27 bottle of sake (n.b. no house sake)--but if you have a yen for sushi and aren't cost-sensitive, even though there's no ocean in sight, this is really solid.
