As visitors to Karpathos for more than 20 years we always have to visit this restaurant at least once on each visit since it was established both at its original and later at its present location. This year it was very windy and we had ordered a table inside. It was unfortunately also some low clouds on the West horizon, so we missed the dramatic sunset. The food was however as usual very nice and prepared and served with the personal touch that we always experience and appreciate.

We had high expectations, but they were not met. Something doesnât work here at all. Some of the dishes were outright unappealing and not tasty. Some were just barely acceptable. Everything was unreasonably expensive, both compared to local prices and especially for what you get. I really hope we came on a âbad dayâ. The location is beautiful.

This little place is in Finiki, in a lateral street near the harbour (indications on tripadvisor map is wrong). The place is very simple and typical, greek people frequent this taberna. Grilled fish for two just 35â¬...fresh, taste, well cooked, big portions. Definitely the best fish dinner in karpathos!

The family run Parthenon restaurant in Arkasa, Karpathos, has one strong card: it is open year round and the locals love it and visit it during the winter and hate it (when they are rival businesses). Why? Simply because the proprietors are local Karpathians who wish to offer the best to their customers. Anastasia, the highly obliging hostess at Parthenon, told me that they do not offer what they and their children would not eat. That's the point for a family restaurant. She collects the wild greens (they make excellent, boiled greens salad called Horta) from the salty slopes of the nearby, rocky sea banks: In case you are wondering about preservatives or high cholesterol, stop now! They make their own delicious, soft white goat and sheep cheese locals call Manouli. And more: the meat, flour and eggs come from local farms, the food is daily cooked in virgin olive oil and hand made often by Anastasia's gifted, elderly mother in law who also crafts local bread, Kouloures, that is, onion bagel-like buns. The word frozen does not exist in the family's dictionary; they believe their intelligence is offended. If the surroundings look a bit kitch, which they do, ignore them: The view from the balcony is marvellous, the sea breeze soft and soothing and the home made wine will pleasantly make you tipsy and happy. This is summer vacation and I like it.

This is very practical solution if you're at the beach and hungry. There are no other restaurants nearby, that you could reach on foot, fast. This is the only restaurant at the beach. There is a beach bar nearby, which is supposed to serves food, but I didn't check it out. So, if you're looking for a more taverna like place or more homemade like prepared food, you should probably go to Arkassa or perhaps try some taverna on the road to the beach. You'll get decent meals for OK price (could be lower) here, but nothing more. Oh, except for the perfect and quick service. I got a natural lemonade, even though it wasn't on the menu. Note: I don't understand that you can't order natural lemonade anywhere on Karpathos. At least, I didn't come across a place that serves it. On the other hand, this is the case in many restaurants/bars all over the world. They serve squeezed any fruit you like, but rarely lemon. Strange. We tried grilled and fried calamari- just OK, spar ribs - quite OK.

We spent three nights in Finiki and two of our meals were here. The first, my birthday dinner, was amazing! Lobster and linguini. I thought I was going to die. Truly delicious. They do not skimp on product and quality. Yes people, fish is expensive at island tavernas. Now that we're past that, the family running it were wonderful and accommodating. The waiters and waitresses were so very nice to us. I would go back again and again! We live in Athens.

Magnificent fishrestaurant with a wonderful sea view NOW OPEN up to October 2017 and for sure the next year also!
We had a fun and festive meal after selecting a 1.5 kg snapper with clear eyes and fresh scent. He was perfectly cooked and accompanied by Greek salad (with perfect tomatoes and cucumbers), the fried large calamari (tender and delicious), sautéed greens, and small sweet fried shrimp. Everything was perfect and I thank the busy server who made sure everything was perfect.

This traditional Karpathos restaurant is located on top of the Ayios Theodoros beach, south of Arkasa. It has amazing views with perfect Greek cuisine food. Here, apparently you can find the best Karpathos traditional plate called "Macaroones" which is locally prepared pasta with local recipe!!! Just amazing place. Relaxing, calming!
