Fish & Chip restaurant looking out over the harbour while you eat. Traditional fish and chip dishes are served such as fish, sausages, chicken, haggis and deep fried pizza. However, we also serve our exclusive 'BLAGGIS' which is both haggis and black pudd
Going on the positive reviews I popped in for a fish supper with high expectations, however I found the whole experience very underwhelming for a number of reasons. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there is no mention of the fish type on offer just a generic "fish" which is kind of strange as in other Scottish fish and chip shops the type of fish is always highlighted and in most there is actually a choice of fish. The fish I ended up with was very wet in texture with absolutely no taste surrounded by a tasteless better. The chips were fine but the condiments on offer were generic red and brown sauce, salt and vinegar substitute which tasted of nothing! Surely at the prices charged for the fish a real malt vinegar would make an appearance. On the positive side the service was quick and friendly and the tea was hot and tasty.Maybe I was just unlucky? Certainly improvements need to be made in my opinion.Iâm sorry to hear of your bad experience, we serve haddock or whiting depending on whatâs available. Our batter is homemade and very popular so something has went wrong for which I apologise, would have been great if youâd said straight away and we couldâve replaced it. We offer chip shop red and brown sauce, we also offer tartar sauce, mayonnaise, salad cream and a whole load of other sauces, maybe we should put that in the menu to ask, as there is no room on the table for the lot. I appreciate your feedback and will take it on board.

We went to Girvan on the hottest day of the year and stumbled on this little gem of a place.Really unusually, we walked through a shoe shop to get to it.... what a great idea. Something to browse though whilst the food was prepared, and very friendly staff. The food was great too.

Visited Auld Acquaintance in Girvan partly due to the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, which bore no resemblance to the establishment we visited. The place itself wasdefinitely appropriate to its title - auld (old), tatty and looked uncared for; however, once inside, we decided to give it a go as often appearances can be deceptive. I ordered a tuna & feta pizza and my friend ordered roasted Mediterranean vegetable pizza. We waited ages for the food to arrive, despite the fact there was hardly anyone in the place and when the food eventually arrived we were both flabbergasted. Both pizzas were made with ready made pizza bases, smothered in what appeared to be tomato puree instead of pizza sauce and my pizza was smothered in what I can only presume to be tuna savoury, the type used for sandwich fillings, instead of just tuna with lumps of melted cheddar and a tiny amount of feta on top. It actually looked as if a dog had thrown up on top of a pizza base. My friend's roasted med veg pizza wasn't much better and both were served on plastic plates! My supposed tuna & feta pizza was cold, so I asked for it to be warmed up, whereby the waitress took it away & then the 'chef' appeared & explained that it couldn't be reheated due to the presence of mayonnaise, reinforcing my suspicion that it was sandwich filling on the pizza instead of just tuna & feta. The food was so awful we ate only a couple of pieces, paid and then left. I wouldn't mind but the food there isn't cheap; £8.99 for a 9 inch pizza which frankly wasn't as nice as a chesp frozen pizza from Asda. The food was absolutely horrible and the place bore absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the establishment described or depicted on Trip Advisor, therefore I'd recommend that everyone gives this place the widest berth possible and go elsewhere.

Beulah's Restaurant is located at Woodland Bay Hotel, 2 miles south of Girvan on the A77. The restaurant is open from 7.00 to 9.00pm daily serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Freshly brewed tea and coffee with a selection of snacks and home baking are al
Visited here for dinner. Service and staff very very friendly and hospitable and orders taken promptly with a smile :) however the quality of food let the place down. I ordered a starter of Strawberries and Melon. This was served with a sorbet and the whole thing dusted with icing sugar making it a very sweet starter which could have easily been served as a desert! This was followed by Loin of Lamb with a £4 supplement. Vegetables were very overcooked. Potato Dauphinoise consisted of sliced potatoes with their skins on covered with a cheese ( not Gruyere Cheese) topping but the worse part was the lamb itself. Three pieces stacked, fatty and each piece tasting differently, in fact the last piece tasted much older than lamb normally tastes. Menu appears value for money however can honestly say it did not live up to expectations.

Just moved to Girvan and this restaurant had been recommended on a local site so my husband and I decided to try it out as the reviews were excellent. We were not disappointed. The place was nicely decorated and felt really homely and welcoming. It was quiet but it was mid-week so that was to be expected. The waitress was polite and helpful and couldnât do enough for us. The menu was good with plenty of choices and reasonably priced. Food was great - real home cooked dishes and good portion sizes. There was also a good drinks and wine list. Highly recommended.

Bought a small fish supper here on Sunday evening. Canât imagine what size the normal one is! The fish was very good and the chips were okay. Far from the best fish supper Iâve ever had but it did the job.

We re regulars to this bright friendly eatery and gift shop. Restaurant manager Kelsey greets you warmly and is perpetual motion as she serves customers and directs her team. Food arrives quickly and any issues are dealt with promptly and courteously. One of the best.

We came here for a large family dinner. The restaurant wasnât very busy but, we were in the separate event room anyway. The facilities are good for a small to medium sized group. There is a small bar in the event room and drink prices seemed reasonable. The service wasnât great and the meals were very slow. It was more than hour between taking orders and serving any food. The poor folk who didnât order a starter had to wait almost two hours before eating. The food was a mixed bag. The steak pie and roast beef were great. The scallops were off; the whole room could smell that they were bad as they were being served. Iâm surprised that they were prepared and served when it was obvious that something was wrong with them.Overall, because of serving dangerous seafood that was passed its sell by date and the very slow service, I cannot recommend the restaurant.
