A la Carte, Chaine des Rotisseurs At the second floor of the Hotel Merihovi you can found the best restaurant of Kemi. Merihovi's cuisine skillfully combines flavors of Sea-Lapland Scandinavians in the kitchen. Handmade dose and a wide wine list. Stylish

Location, view of the harbor and service was good.My wife had a very good looking and tasty salad with Finnish smoked salmon, she gave good feedback.But...My burger was overcooked (black = burned) and the bun was hard as a rock. I did not complain, just ate half. Fries were great! Will go again myself but try something else from the menu or ask for burger medium.
A cosy seashore restaurant. Relaxing sauna followed by a tasty glowfried salmon dinner makes your evening just... perfect.
Good introduction to snowmobiles. The staff were great, very helpful and knowledgeable. Stay away from the slush though when travelling to the Sampo. First reindeer driving lesson!!

Why on earth? - One word of caution: the pigeon stew on the new autumn menu is a) not a stew at all, b) the braised briskets are left chewy and c) have not been cleaned from membranes. Definitely to be avoided until the concept has been reconsidered. - Another thing that the management should reconsider is presenting many courses in deep bowls that are not designed for using knife and fork. - Often, I am the only customer...
The restaurant is creating an expectation for a tasty experience of Finnish food with a twist. Unfortunately it is totally unable to deliver to this expectation. The taste of all food is very mild and the overall style is very "home-like". I would recommend this place only for elderly people who are afraid of spices and want to eat Finnish home-food when traveling.
