The hubby and I walked here for lunch today. Uphill, all the way, which is good, because we burned off the calories we consumed from the cheeseburger and fries we both indulged in. I am a burger purist, for the most part, so my simple cheeseburger hit the spot. They had fancy burgers, too. The Fries were delicious and come with the burger. Our sue er didnât appear to speak English, and we donât know Italian, so there were a few misunderstanding, such as when I questioned if fries came with the price of the burger, she thought I wanted extra fries, so I got a HUGE bowl, while my hubby got the moderate amount. I skipped the bun on my burger t enjoy the fries. This restaurant is in the university area, and probably is filled with college kids, but when we visited it was almost mid afternoon closing time, so no crosses, only a couple other tables were occupied. Worth the trek up the mountain to get there!Dear Randee Thank you so much for the beautiful review , much appreciated. Also we apologize for the language issues and the Exta French fries . Val d'intelvi is a lovely place to stay. Stunning views, amazing nature, great food. The lack of a place to drink a good beer was painful though. Now, now. Thanks to Birramondo, val d'intelvi is now an authentic little paradise. Finally you can sit and enjoy real ales in a nice place. Who could ask for more? Large choice of beer, either bottled or draft, good rotation. Had a great stout and a fantastic IPA. Food is also nice and some free appetizers were served with beer. Much appreciated. Fresh ingredients and made with love. The guanciale was so tasty. Kudos.The large toast is indeed large. It's yummy and the bacon sauce is a dream. Friendly and professional staff. Smart location. It was a relaxed evening and I the chance to talk with the owner, who is a brilliant entrepreneur and a real connoisseur. He clearly puts enthusiasm and great effort to deliver value and quality. Price is OK. If you are planning a visit to Val d'intelvi and you fancy a couple of beers, look no further. Whatever your plans are, Birramondo is a must go. Thank you and i hope to see you soon
