Torreon Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Torreon
Coahuila, Mexico Food Guide: 10 Mexican food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Torreon

I had good expectations before arriving to the restaurant. When I arrived, the place was pretty much empty. I decided to order the âfamous ribsâ. The cost was pricy but I still decided to order a 10 bone ribs. I was very disappointed; the ribs were very small and they were not too good, not even average. The back side o f the ribs was all charred. Most of the Mexican franchises are not even close to the US counterparts. I do not know if it is the cost of the franchise that the local owners need to pay but certainly look for another restaurant on your visit to the Torreon area.

This is a great little bar near the Alameda. Most nights they even have the roof open so you can see the stars even while you're inside. It's a very cool place with comfy booths.

There are plenty of other wing places, but Las Alitas is my favorite. The sauces are really the best and what set this place apart. They also have a more complete menu that includes salads and sandwiches that also feature their signature wing sauces.

Let's start by saying the food is great. Period. This is the traditional brazilian style place with different swords going around from table to table, everything cooked to perfection. There isn't one dish that's not to be liked in their lineup. However, what really sets this place apart is the excellent service provided by their staff. Everybody is attentive and the crew really knows how to make you feel at home. The restaurant is brand new, so everything in the place looks great and works great. The ambience of Picanhas is also very high end, with a very "Steakhouse" feel, lots of wood everywhere, but still with a family twist to it, and a garden by the side in case you smoke. If you have kids they also have a play area with a few toys and small tables and chairs, nothing fancy, but it keeps kids busy. So, the bottom line...this new kid in town is definetely here to stay, with such high quality food and service! Try it!
