Went with five other friends who all enjoyed their meals at very reasonable prices. The food was very good standard pub food but the waitress could have been a bit more hospitable. Enjoyed the cod meal. Others had the rib special. The female toilets had no paper and weren't the best. I informed the waitress who didn't take it too well.

We waited for forty minutes before realising that our food was probably never going to arrive. The place was not busy but when we went to the bar in search of our meals, several other people were there complaining. Orders had been given to the wrong people and some like ours, never arrived after unacceptably lengthy waits. Not a happy place. We won't return. Can't comment on the food quality because we never got any. Got a refund and left hungry. Really disorganised. Avoid.

One of our local cafes, always a warm welcome. Great variety of beers on tap, plenty of choice for wine and soft drink options. Lovely Pizza, excellent burgers and often there is an interesting special. Right in the heart of Mapua with indoor and outdoor seating options.

The Mapua Sprig and Fern Tavern brings a national award winning brand to Mapua! Located across the road from the popular Mapua Community Hall, the Sprig & Fern is a family friendly tavern open from 12pm âlate. The full range of locally brewed craft beer,
The Tahuna Sprig and Fern Tavern is a nice small-town tavern, with a white picket fence, and outside seating. It also happens to be realy close to the beach, they have a great selection of craft beer, so had a couple with my brother, also ordered the house dark brown chips in a paper cone to help absorb the alcohol. This was a nice way to spend the afternoon after a rain shower, the barman was very knowledgeable and friendly.TIP If you are planning to come here on a Friday to eat suggest you call in advance and make a booking as they get very busy.

Marvellous location and some decent craft beers. Just got the feeling that a bit more thought would improve customer experience e.g. on a busy Friday night (live music) there is a massive single line queue for the bar which then gets in the way of tables outside. More bar space and staff perhaps?

New Zealand's Oldest Pub in it's original building. Serving lovely seasonal meals, craft beer and all wines are sourced within 10km of the Inn.
While driving around the Moutere valley, we came across the Moutere Inn tucked away behind some very large bushes. Apparently, this is the New Zealand's oldest pub to remain operating in its original building, and was built in 1850 by a German immigrant called Cordt Bennseman. Over the year a few changes have taken place, electricity was installed and the large sweeping verandah was replaced when the main bar was extended in the 1960s. Now in keeping with modern trends and being a freehouse they serve a fair collection of local Craft beers, ales and wines from the surrounding area of Moutere. The Cassel and Sons Best Bitter was very tasty as was the lager, and my wifeâs Malbec Merlot had no problem disappearing. We ordered the beef burger without the BBQ sauce and shoe string fries, and also the grilled stadtwurst with sauerkraut and homemade mustard. Both dishes matched perfectly with our Adult beverages. TIP: Use your GPS as itâs a bit hard to find.

The Sprig & Fern Tavern in Motueka is somewhat of a hidden gem set behind the busy main street. We are a traditional, friendly kiwi tavern with a bright, fresh interior. There are no TVs or pokies to distract you from enjoying the excellent craft beer and
The teachers at my school decided to go here for a farewell party because their menu advertises gluten free and vegan options, and that they accomodate dietary requirements or allergies. I spoke at length with two different servers about GF and vegan options before ordering because gluten has landed me in the hospital before and I generally keep a vegan diet. I saw a vegetarian pizza on the menu, gluten free with goat cheese. I asked if they could take the cheese off, they said no, everything is pre-made, but I also know that goat cheese isnt so hard on my digestive system like cow and I was sharing with a group so we ordered that and fries. When the meal came, the fries looked suspicious to me and everyone else at the table said "dont worry, they're just deep fried". I decided to check yet again and it turned out that yes, they are breaded, and it doesnt say so on the menu and the servers didnt know. The pizza came, it looked greasy but good, we ate it, it was delicious, and a friend ordered a second. The second was covered in mozzerella. It turns out our pizza had had mozz on it too but since it was a bit overcooked, you couldnt see it from under the veggies. Needless to say I've had a headache for going on 20 hours and it sucks. I asked to talk to the manager as 1. this could have been a dangerous situation if I hadnt triple checked and 2. why am I giving money to people that are feeding me food that I don't ask for, that isnt as advertised, and that made me sick. I was told that the managers were out of town for three weeks and I could bring it up with them when they return. Really? No one pit in charge in their absence? No one to deal with customer complaints? No one to rectify the situation for three weeks? Needless to say, I'm never going to Sprig and Fern again.
