Went here for a birthday meal for myself and a friend and it was perfect. Staff were amazing and professional. Will definately he eating here again. What a charming little pub this is..... we usually go to watch the superb firework displays but today enjoyed some wonderful food- couldnât fault it at all. Staff attentive and extremely welcoming. Has a great vibe, atmosphere, and ambience, the decor is in keeping but with a modern fresh look- great colours! We enjoyed a fantastic lunch earlier today- generous sized portions, fresh and full of flavour. Pudding was yummy too!! Could not fault this place at all. Canât wait for the summer to enjoy some gin in the beer garden. Thanks Sally and all your staff for a great couple of hours-canât wait to come back (and already made plans to return!)

Visited here after going to soft play with our child. We ordered Mac and Cheese and a BBQ sharing platter. The food came suspiciously quickly and then we found the chicken of the sharing platter to be stone cold.... we told the waitress about this and she said she would tell the chef but at this point I was put off by the meal. My partner was also put off as the rest of the platter was only tepid. The waitress agreed to take this off the bill but we couldnât just leave as our 4 year old was hungry, the reason we went in the first place, and we didnât want to just take his food away from him. He was tucking into his Mac and Cheese when my partner noticed a long brown hair in the middle of the pasta!! Again we told the waitress who seemed as shocked as we were but went to the kitchen and offered replacement food but at this point it was too late and we obviously declined.Unfortunately this was substandard and we will not be returning.

We decided to use The Gate as its local to us, we booked a small area at the bottom of the restaurant to have a get together with close friends, a bite to eat and a few drinks. Bernie and the rest of the team were very accommodating regularly coming over to see if everything was ok. We ordered various food from the menu at different times which was served very quickly considering how busy the pub was. The food was superb. We had arranged a bit of music and it turned into a really great afternoon and evening.

Love The Fox, the staff, the food and drink are exceptional! The clientele who visit are also fab. Since the appointment of The Manager Andy this pub has improved by 120 percent. We have been drinking and dining here for a number of years and it just continues to get better on every visit! Even better now as they allow well behaved dogs in which is great for us as we do not have to leave our fur ball at home!Keep it up Andy and team, you are doing a fantastic job!Lovely words from you Caroline. Moored up in the canal near the pub and enjoyed a huge Sunday lunch for just under ten pounds! Service was excellent, plenty of customers and a great atmosphere. Food was quickly served and both the roasts and the desserts were lovely. Thoroughly good feed!Thanks bright108 for you great review. Lovely location and a proper local, country pub. A level (or two above Gastro pub.) Great food cosy quirky split level dining room. Attentive staffs, although our server was young she could not have been more friendly and sociable without being intrusive. Intuitive is how I would describe her. They had an excellent blackboard specials menu with three fresh game options. I was spoilt for choice. My Spanish Colleague was so impressed he offered to pay the bill. Being gallant I let him.Thanks Kevin - thatâs great to hear & we look forward to seeing you again soon.

We came for s family meal on sunday to celebrate a birthday. We were greated by Lisa who was lovely, i explained that my daughter had an allergy to certain foods. I was extremely impressed that lisa took the time to reassure us that we could be catered for and went through our options on the menu. It was very busy, i was extremely impressed that we were checked on several times . The food was great we will be back.Once again s special mention to Lisa a credit to you .
