Find out what Pub restaurants to try in South Bend. The 150-year-old University of Notre Dame is South Bend's biggest tourist draw, and for good reason. Though it's not easy to land seats at the 80,000-plus-capacity Notre Dame Stadium for a "Fighting Irish" football game, you'll find plenty of attractions on the beautiful, expansive campus. Highlights include numerous works of art, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart and the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, a replica of the famous shrine. Football fans will also want to visit the College Football Hall of Fame, which features interesting perspectives on the game and inductee videos. Whether or not you remember the Studebaker automobile, which saw its demise in the early sixties, you're sure to enjoy the Studebaker National Museum, featuring more than 75 vehicles drawn from the history of the company, beginning with horse-drawn carriages. South Bend has several fine museums, including the South Bend Regional Museum of Art and the Northern Indiana Center for History, a complex of four museums. Don't leave without trying truffles or fudge from the South Bend Chocolate Company.

I was between meetings and looking for a quick lunch. I had tomato, watermelon and mozzarella cheese appetizer. I wasn't sure what to expect since I never had watermelon with tomato and mozzarella. It was delicious and the watermelon looked like slices of tomato. It was sliced and layered with olive oil and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.Highly recommend this appetizer.

Live local and went to try the Kankakee Grille with neighbors on a weeknight. We had heard good things about the food quality so wanted to try it out. Read reviews that service was terrible. We had 2 beer lovers with us who wanted to try the local brews. I asked the waitress if we could get a sampler of the different local beers. Instead of saying we donât do that, she said let me ask the bartender. She returned with 8 shot glasses (4 each) so the guys could sample the beers before deciding. She was awesome. Iâve never had cheese curds before, and they were awesome. My friend said they were the best sheâd ever had. The only downside for non-college students is that at 10 the tunes get turned up and we who are older canât hear.We are so happy you had a great experience DG, we hope to see you again soon!

Accepted a reservation for our youth hockey team. They were prepared with table setup and adequate number of servers. Menu was good and prices reasonable. Burger and chicken tenders were outstanding. Orders were placed quickly and the food all arrived at a similar time and was hot. Service was 5 star. Would recommend.

Found this gem while passing time. Itâs a small establishment but the service and tastiness of the food packs a big punch. I loved the eclectic feel of the place. There seemed to be only one server but the bartender was a team player and delivered drinks to everyoneâs table when the server was taking food orders. They offered a decent selection of beers. I enjoyed the crispness of a grapefruit IPA called Emilyâs. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and gave recommendations about local favorites. I definitely plan to stop in again during my next visit to South Bend.

the menu was quite unique: Brussel sprouts and apple pieces on a pizza?!! (quite sweet); good fries (large portion); hamburger (very large; two can share); service was excellent and very accommodating as the size of our party increased during the evening. moderately expensive.Dear 46carpediem, Thank you for your recent review of Rohr's. O'Rourke's Public House is a locally owned Irish bar located across from the beautiful University of Notre Dame. With a fantastic family friendly atmosphere, a large patio overlooking the home of the Fighting Irish, two full bars, and great late night opt
Lunched here with my husband and daughter - about 15 minutes after they opened. Place was largely empty. Ordered OâRourkeâs burger (which was very good), a Reuben, and Bangers and Mash (no mash - it was potato chunks). My daughter liked the bangers and mash - although I know I would have been disappointed. It took a while for our food to come - but everyone was pleased. Sodas are large. Service was good. Was just enough food - not tons of fries - but they were good.We are glad to hear you enjoyed our O'Rourke's Burger! We apologize for the long wait for your food. Our management team is addressing the issues you have brought up. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope to see you again soon!

I had the pleasure of dining at the Fiddlers Hearth last year while on a business trip to the area. It was a cold, windy night and the folks at The Aloft told me about the Fiddlers and that it was practically next door. It was perfect as it was only a couple of minutes from the hotel. When I arrived I got this sense of warmth, as the place was very inviting. This is one of the nicer Irish Pubs I've been to, the decor was very artful, and the beer and food menu was very appealing. After going through the menu with my server we decided on a good flight and the food that would go great with it. On this night I had the Scotch Egg, the Whiskey BBQ Wings ( 6 piece portion ) and the gargantuan Molly Malone Stew!! All the dishes were perfect. The Scotch Egg was very good as I haven't had one in years. All wings are not equal and the wings here have a good consistency, as they have some crispiness to them, and the sauce is flavourful. The Molly Malone Stew was truly a great dish, despite all the seafood in it, it doesn't taste too 'fishy' like many similar seafood-based stews. It is a very large portion and although it may not look like it, it is a full meal on its own. How I finished it all is a mystery, I chalk it up to the taste. This is a great Pub with great food and great ambiance. I would eat here again.

We arrived at the Crooked Ewe and found the parking lot to be full. We drove to the other side of the building and there was a small parking lot that appeared to be an employee lot with a wood fired smoker out back. We left, thinking we'd find another place to eat, however when we got to the stoplight, we noticed a parking lot for another business with people appearing to walk to the restaurant. Upon entering the parking lot, there were signs indicating this was the Ewe overflow parking. We got in the restaurant and it was not full as the lot would have indicated. We were waited on quickly and had drinks within minutes. We ordered the hushpuppies as an appetizer and I had the gyro and my wife the arepa. The hushpuppies are amazing. Much different flavor than we expected. These aren't your normal hushpuppies. We absolutely loved them though. My gyro came on a homemade pita what was phenomenal. The flavors were just fantastic with the cucumber kimchi and the pickled red onion. My wife loved her arepa equally as well. Our waitress was back for refills in a timely manner and with the check at the end of the meal as well. The atmosphere was wonderful with a beautiful view of the river outside the back of the restaurant. For a couples date night, it was a hit with my wife. We will definitely be going back. If the lot is full, go back to the corner and park there!
