The crazy thing about this restaurant is that the location is superb. The building itself is nice. It has a huge deck facing Lake Norman. It's sandwiched just yards in between two restaurants in less attractive buildings that are slammed all the time, with wait lists. The Beach House has I think ten boat slips for hungry boaters. So WHY isn't the owner assessing all these unbelievable positives and doing something more with what he/she has?? We went there today for lunch. Our first choice was the Blue Parrot but they had a long wait. So we decided to give The Beach House a try. We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess, out on the shaded deck. There were maybe three other tables filled. In the entire place. Fabulous view of the lake! But the decor was as bland as can be. Our server came fast and got our drinks and then took our order. I need to say something here about the menu, I mean the actual menu you hold and look at. It's ridiculously large for the sparse amount of foods they offer. So much blank space! Just seemed weird. I ordered the blackened shrimp quesadilla and a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. My husband had the fish tacos and the same salad. The salads came first. They were ok--iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tasteless tomato. However, the "dressing," which came on the side, was pure balsamic vinegar. I've never been served that before. =\. Terrible. The food we ordered came in a timely manner. The fish tacos and fries my husband had were fine, nothing special. The shrimp in the quesadilla I ordered was not blackened at all...and it was just bland. It needed salt, but there was no salt or pepper on our table. Or on any table. The salsa served with it was absolutely terrible. We did enjoy the view. The place got a little busier as time went on, but it was obvious they were going to be scrambling to do it all with the small staff they had...we had to go find our server for the check, but she was very nice and did nothing wrong. It's mystifying why the owner of this place wouldn't be doing all he/she could to capitalize on the many positives that could make it a stand out. Hire a consultant.

I hate to give negative reviews, but in this case, I have to. First, the restaurant was not crowded, we sat for a good 12 minutes before anyone even came over to take a drink order; since we had plenty of time to check out the menu, we went ahead and ordered our beverages, appetizer and food at the same time. There were 2 adults, a 12 year and 6 year old. Without asking, they brought the 12 year old a child's cup with lid ... that didn't go over well, but it was probably a mistake so we ordered a regular beverage. The appetizer came out fair quickly, but it was just chips and queso so nothing that had to be prepared. Salads came out - ok and decent. But here is where things start to unravel... we waited and waited and waited... although the waitress kept walking by our table with other food, an hour later, the manager came over to inquire how it was going. My husband said, "well, I'm not sure, we've been waiting for over an hour" -- she said, "well that is our fault, we forgot to put your order in, but your food is coming up soon. We are going to give you a 10% discount." So if the drinks and appetizer got in, how did the food order get lost? The steaks had a good flavor, but the ribs were iffy. The mashed potatoes were just OK. The 6 year old ordered mac n cheese, but it had a weird taste and she wouldn't eat it. After we started eating, the waitress brought out rolls ... not sure where they had been all this time, but they finally arrived. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, but again, the restaurant was not crowded. Maybe 20 people total when we arrived. I did notice that the Hostess (a guy) was also pulling duty as a bus boy. The meal at Kickback Jackâs in Mooresville, North Carolina was Average. The chicken quesadillas were OK but have had better. The chicken quesadilla salad was very good. The service was very good.

We visited with a group of friends on Taco Tuesday and had a great experience. Big selection of local craft brews (around $5) and a special Tuesday night taco menu ($3 each). I had two- the brisket taco and the bang-bang, tasty and two make a meal. The band was a three piece Southern music group using an acoustic guitar. They started at 8 and were great in the small bar full of listeners. We will certainly return next time we are in town.

Traveling through and stopped here to eat dinner. I was disappointed in the menu as they offered only one type of steak that was overpriced and I love wings but they were way overpriced almost $1.55 a piece! The unsweet tea was old tasting and probably a fresh tea hadn't been made in two or 3 days. I got the hamburger with mayo, lettuce & tomato and it came as a good size burger but with no mayo. On the plate was a white substance that tasted like ranch dressing and I can assure you it was not mayo. The tater tots were cooked crispy just the way I like them. My wife got a salad and she liked it.. probably won't stop here again and can't recommend it for food, maybe for beer and watching a ballgame.

Stopped here last night for dinner with friends plus a few drinks and all were happy.We ordered the tuna appetizers plus the mahi tacos and 3 French dip sandwiches which were good as well.The only thing I would suggest to the kitchen would be to grill the hoagie style roll and maybe use a lighter one(too much bread) otherwise our drinks and food were very good.As far as the French fries go,no one has better fries than lake Norman tavern and I mean no one!!We order them extra crispy.Very hard working staff here as well,Evette was our server and kept our drinks coming.Bring a roll of quarters if you have kids and let them play all the machines while you relax! Enjoy

Sitting on their deck overlooking the lake is a great spot to have a few drinks or even a bite to eat. Decent beer selection. Good music.
